This is the second in the series, so I am pasting the same note as before:
I met a group of students from Belgrade University, mostly electrical/computer engineering or physics/math grad students, who helped organize a computer science conference in Sveti Stefan.

I heard from them how they were struggling valiantly against so many odds--first the NATO bombing of Belgrade, then international rejection due to war crime of some of their political/military leaders. These kids lived in their departmental laboratories for over a month or so during the bombing raids because these buildings were sturdier than their homes and they thought NATO would not bomb the university, and how they carried on their experiments even during the heat of war.

The conference organized a sailing trip for the delegates which some of the students also were getting a ride in...I could see in their eyes how exciting the prospect was. Unfortunately the trip was cancelled due to bad weather. To cheer them up a dance session was organized at night. Music started in dim light, and Shlivovitz flowed, and the kids broke into the swing of dance.

I was caught without a wider lens--you know how delegates are not supposed to walk around bristling with camera gear--so I had to shoot these f2.5 at ~1/8 sec hand-held 400ASA.

In your last picture I had a glance at, there was energy and grace in the blurred movement and bright background lighting-- here the darker tones and short distance bring out intimacy and a much slower and appropriate 'pace'.

It's a great result for 1/8 of a second wide open with this lens-- I can barely get an acceptable image at 1/30 with it.

Animesh, this has a real feeling of closness and intimacy....the POV, the look on the man's face, the blurred seperated background. In many ways it reminds me of your posting 'Rendezvous in Athens'.... a couple in their own world into which we are momentarily allowed. A really lovely moment to capture and a fitting posting for upcoming Valentine's day!
