The Oceanographic Museum is more than one aquarium it have also beautiful and interesting other old things to appreciate and visit.
The ws contains a large view of the hall.

The Oceanographic Museum was inaugurated in 1910 by Monaco's modernist reformer, Prince Albert I. This monumental architectural work of art has an impressive façade towering above the sea, towering over the sheer cliff face to a height of 279 feet (85.04 meters). It took 11 years to build, using 100,000 tons of stone from La Turbie.

The museum houses remarkable collections of various species of sea fauna (starfish, seahorses, turtles, jellyfish, crabs, lobsters, rays, sharks, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, eels, cuttlefish etc.) both stuffed and in skeletal form. The museum's holdings also include a great variety of sea related objects, including model ships, sea animal skeletons, tools, weapons, etc.

An aquarium is housed in the basement of the museum which showcases a spectacular array of flora and fauna. 4000 species of fish and over 200 families of invertebrates can be seen. It features a presentation of Mediterranean and tropical marine ecosystems.

Jacques Cousteau was its director for many years, beginning in 1957.

Ciao Tullio.
Ci sono stato un quarto di secolo fa, ed erano viaggi zaino in spalla in cui ero tanto stanco che a mala pena riuscivo a fare qualche scatto. Questa tua immagine è ottima, perchè compone nello spazio elementi quasi tutti incompleti, ma il cui curioso assortimento (ci sono scheletri di cetacei e una barca al centro) ha una singolare armonia, forse perchè associati dal fatto di non solcare da tempo, gli uni e l'altra, gli oceani.

Ciao Vinicio,
rettili fossilizzati che scortano il relitto di un'imbarcazione... per fortuna la presenza umana di contorno riconduce la mente alla realtà e fa apprezzare l'immagine per quello che è: una ricostruzione del passato, anche se l'accostamento è alquanto singolare.

Ciao Vinicio,

originale vista della barca con i gli scheletri dei dinosauri a farle da cornice.
Anche le luci sembrano ben gestite.
La poca vivacità di queste, evitano eventuali riflessi sul parquet che sicuramente avrebbero finito col dare disturbo.

Infine... Ottima proposta!

Dopo aver letto gli altri commenti, mi son reso conto di aver fatto una grossa gaff, scambiando gli scheletri dei cetacei, in scheletri di dinosauri.

A prima vista li avevo scambiati per tali, sebbene non mi spiegavo cosa centrassero i dinosauri accanto ad una barca, all'interno di un museo oceanografico.

Mi sa che devo farmi controllare la vista ;-)

Foto interessante con una strana simmetria. Peccato che scattandola all'interno non abbia molto colore.
