Nice idea and a very good composition as well. I like the game of light you used here!
barrufeto_77 (28876) 2005-12-12 3:41
The composition with the kid and his mother and the water behind them is lovely!
Nice, nice work!
jinju (14265) 2005-12-12 3:49
mighty impressive colors. Not easy shooting into such bright light as this, so you handled it quite well. The photo is really about the marvel of childhood..how seeing such wonderful, foreign things as children caused us to just get enveloped by them...and how when we are adults we lose this wonder at the world. Hence the way the child here is almost trying to enter that world and the mother couldnt be bothered by it.
david (3992) 2005-12-12 3:52
this is a great shot ... the light is wonderful and the silhouettes are brilliant.
i would have changed my perspective. capturing the shot from a low angle would have enabled you to frame out the floor. it also would have given the child a more intersting POV in relation to the fish and the camera.
i think you could have created the perfect photo with a slightly different shot ...
alon (1285) 2005-12-12 4:07
When I saw this photo in a thumbnail, I could see the shadows clear, but I couldn't realize what that colorful bright cloud behind it is.
Very nice catch of the scene. You managed the tricky light well here. The composition is simple but good. I also like the human element here.

Hi Paolo, Very beautiful shot with those colourful fish, but what really makes this image is the attitude of the little boy. We can really feel his bewilderment and excitement of discovering these fish and that is touching. Very good work! Sabine
PS I hope you were happy with the sun I ordered for your weekend down here; wasn't it just lovely weather!
Furachan (0) 2005-12-12 4:11
Simply beautiful, Paolo, this family shadow theater against the blue background of exotic fish.
The outstretched hands of the boy remind one of ET, you know...so there is a kind of spiritual feeling here, something hushed.
emanuela (1257) 2005-12-12 4:18
ciao e a presto

This is an excllent shot for lot of reason , first for the child who discover the fish, for the mother who take care of the child, and the superb backgriound.
tinamunk3 (6404) 2005-12-12 4:25
Nice colours from the aquarium and really nice to see how the small boy looks so interested and entertained while the mother is watching him :)
bantonbuju (51763) 2005-12-12 4:25
ciao paolo, a nice catch - this underworld scene reminds me how i was a kid and we visited zoo park in katowice, i could stand and watch the animals for hours, and reptiles and fishes were particularly fascinating;lovely colours, nice composition;
have a nice week, jerzy
Albrecht (11279) 2005-12-12 4:29
Nice daily-lifescene. Perhaps an even lower POV would made the silhouets even stronger without the floor on the picture. Nice shot.
~thanks for sharing~

semplice e magnifica... BRAVO!!!
Steft (5975) 2005-12-12 5:06
Very nice photo. Some white elements seems to be slightly overexposed, but it is a very nice idea. The people give some live and the blue tones are good.
PixelTerror (0) 2005-12-12 5:22
Joy is certainly the result of this attraction by light and moving shapes of the underwater world, it looks like an early initiation to photography ;-)
I like the hands on the windows materializing a desire to enter this strange world, but sure the glass is strong and we can see the caring mother (possibly a visiting Italian tourist from Lombardia...) is not far away.
Guenther (10913) 2005-12-12 5:38
alekpet (4663) 2005-12-12 5:47
Wow, this is some shot, Paolo, of the water world!
I like the way both figures, specially the kid, are litten by the blue/green from the water. I have to take my kid there once!
Graal (94110) 2005-12-12 5:48
unusual and interesting place. Nice view, good capture. I like the colours and sharpness. Well done.

Nice shot. I think you almots get the right shutter speed to get the fishes almots sharped enough to suit those shadows !
Lovely scene with the kids impressed by the fishes, the mum looks also impresses.
faubry (35373) 2005-12-12 7:20

What should I say about this picture, this is like a dream a magic,
When I looked into the Thumbnail, I thought this is another beach picture with lovely clouds in the BG, and opening the thumbnail is a surprise for me.
Excellent use of light, nice color and the silhouette, a real JOY for my eyes.
rosaline (0) 2005-12-12 8:38
Like you silhouette of the adult and child. The colouring adds greatly to the effect. I don't mind the point of view, I think the picture works just fine. Nice exposure too. Good work
AmiBe (6042) 2005-12-12 10:12
the blue color and the silhouettes are very nice !
The hands on the window make this shot even stronger.
Cricri (96885) 2005-12-12 10:55

They can very fun and effective in form of presentations those aquarium shots. As here a good capture of the mother and child, especially the child higly engaged in the aqua life. Good capture of this motif p.
Henryk_Bilor (20799) 2005-12-12 12:25
It is a good sedative image. Nice colours and joy in the little man.
eleparc (24063) 2005-12-12 13:05
those shots from the Musée océanographique de Monaco are always very impressive! and this one is no exception! I like the reflection on the floor tiles and the position of the mother looking lovingly onto her son who is bewildered by the aquarium! a nice loving moment!
feather (51128) 2005-12-12 16:24
What a fitting title for this wonderful image. The child's stance tells us how he is excited by what he is seeing. The mother is just as pleased, but at the response of the child. From a technical point of view I think the light is managed well, with the people almost, but not quite, in silhouette. To have excluded the floor would have meant cutting feet off, so I feel the composition is good.
Amirsun (2122) 2005-12-13 1:17
Excellent silhouette, Paolo!
Very interesting shot with god colours and composition. I like the fishes specially briny water fishes and in this shot you show us very beautiful of them.
Tanks for posting.

Powerfull image Paolo.
I really like how we seem to feel how amazed this child is in front of this spectacular scene. Really well framed and good light management.

There is something amazing about this photo in that it shows memebers of two different worlds interacting trhough the barriers that separate them,
Luan (12971) 2005-12-18 3:42
the museum is a great spot to take photography, isn't it ?
A very nice catch, this first aquarium is huge and beautiful.

Hello Paolo, I see we both had the same idea--an aquarium shot. I like the beautiful colours and the pose of the father and child in yours. Well done.
thaprem (2554) 2005-12-27 6:27
Typical who-is-looking-at-who shot!!...
A refreshing one from the usual what-I-See images inside the galerias, this gives the warmth of the family in a perfect colur & silhoutte...

bella immagine e composizione.
dazza (61) 2006-11-01 1:16
This photo made me smile. You can really feel this kids awe. And I feel the parents position completes the shot.
