Photographer’s Note
After we had a long day visiting Monte Carlo and Monaco we went back to the ship to try to rest, it was late and when I was ready to go to bed I saw this view of the bay through my balcony, well I had to tried some shots but without a tripod just resting my camera on the baranda and holding my breath. Talking about tripods this morning I saw a beautiful picture posted by a very good photographer Andreas LEO Urban (leo61) and to take that picture he brought a ladder with him, so now i will have to put into my car not only a tripod but also a ladder.
Hope you like it.

Dear Emile,
When days strolled past the deadly thorns of life... it was hard not to be present, watching the gems in TE..
Here I smell the fragrances of freedom, and the composition gives a sense of action..
Excellent lights , well made.
Thank you :)

A really nice view and stunning result.

Hi Emile. I saw a documentary on Andris Apse and he has a tripod head mounted on his ladder. Two in one! Great photo, especially considering you had no tripod. Well composed and thanks for sharing.

Hello Emile,
quite an impressive sight! I like this high POV, it makes the composition well balanced and presents a very interesting panoramic view of the place. Excellent night shot! Very good sharpness and nice warm colour gamma.

Excellent night capture, Emile. The perspectived yatchs make an impressive FG and the light exposure seem pretty good for my eyes. It's beautiful to see the lights getting weaker in the distance until they disapear completely on top of the image.

Certainly from a cruise ship you get a unique POV. These are serious yachy moored here (:D) and the diagonals they make work well in the image. Excellent exposure, especially as you had to make decisions bacause of the lack of a tripod. Good work

Salut Emilie!

Hola Emile
From your balcony, you did not need to have a ladder!
The high pov gives a good idea of the busy place which you've exposed well... without shaking ;) I like the smooth texture of the water and the lights reflecting in it!

Hola amigo Emile,

Hi Emile,
This is a really amazing night photo of the harbour area of Monte Carlo and despite the fact you couldn't use a tripod, the result is stunning. The many small lights everywhere are beautiful and add such a nice golden hue to the photo. Good sharpness too. Thanks for sharing!

Hola Emile,

Felicitaciones.

Hola Emile,
You got stunning detail and color in this well-framed composition; it is exactly the scene I would expect from Monaco. You can also use the timer for such shots but apparently holding your breath is very effective for you.
I often climb on top of our pop-top camper to get a more elevated view and still Larry taslks of taking a ladder.

Hello Emile,
What a gem! This is a scene I know well, but I could not manage to photograph it so beautifully. Add to your list of a tripod and a ladder, a locking pair of pliers. On the end of one of the handles is a screw used for adjusting the jaws, before tightening the handles. The screw has the same diameter as the screw that is used in mounting a camera to a tripod. Here is a photograph of locking pliers which you are no doubt familiar with. You simply replace the screw with a 1/4 inch screw with no head, that can be screwed on the bottom of a camera.
Fabulous photograph of the Monte Carlo Bay at night.
Warm regards,
Bulent
