Comino: bees like blue Photo

Picture taken on the island Comino.

Comino is a very tiny island (3 square km) in the Maltese archipelago, situated about halfway between Malta and Gozo. Being car-free it’s a quite haven from the busy everyday life of the other islands.

At my previous post of a picture of Comino I mentioned already that I was surprised to find such a high number of plants in flower.
Here you see the blue flower of the thistle that you can find all over the island.
The blue colour isn’t only attractive to photographers. For bees it’s the meeting point.

An excellent approach, a very good macro image captured by your lens, and naturally beautiful colors.

The contrasts establish a good definition. We note the efforts of bees to obtain their desired loot.

The needle like spikes are really very well captured from this angle, and adding the strong color has made it so catchy with sharp focus. Quite a surprise to see this colored plant.

Very good close up with a well chosen DOF, to avoid background distractions. The light on the thistle flower is wonderful and steals the attention from the bees. It takes a second look to find all the bees competing for the nectar. Well done
