Photographer’s Note

We wanted to end a hot day with a bath, which was easier said than done. The coast line where we were consisted of steep cliffs, luckily we spotted a small village called Ghar Lapsi on the map which seemed to be on the coast.

Ghar Lapsi was a pleasant suprise. It had a natural lagoon with protecting cliffs on three sides, very good for children, but you could also swim out to sea through a narrow passage. I went snorkeling here and saw, amongst other things, an octopus.

Another nice thing with Ghar Lapsi was that we seemed to be the only tourists there. This is where the Maltese families go to relax, people where barbecuing while their kids where swimming and the grandparents where sitting in foldup chairs taking it easy. No one was selling plastic souvenirs or postcards, the mood was relaxed and felt genuine.
