Marsaxlokk is a traditional fishing village located in the south-eastern part of Malta, with a population of 3,277 people (NSO Report, Dec 2008). The village’s name comes from marsa, which means "port" and xlokk, which is the local name for south east. The word is related to the name for the dry sirocco wind that blows from the Sahara, comparable to the equivalent Catalan word, "xaloc".

The red pavement makes a strong lead-line toward the people sat eating under the parasol, giving the image great depth, something accentuated by the choice of the bookmark format. I like the lighting and the excellent textural detail in the old stone façades. We went to Marsaxlokk for Sunday lunch, very busy as it was also market day, but we managed to find a restaurant on the front and had an enjoyable meal.

Le regard suit le trottoir pour arriver jusqu'à la terrasse de café. Le format vertical est judicieusement choisi.
Amitiés et bonne journée.

I like the vertical compositions. Excellent one! Good perspective, attractive colors. Good combination of a daily life and postcard format. I think it was a siesta time, 'cause we don't se the crowd of tourists.
Best wishes from sunny warm Ural!

Ottima presentazione, come sempre.

The way that you composed your photo to use blue, dark grey and orange gives it a certain graphical appeal. The perspective first concentrates our attention on the near cafe and then on the distant cafe. Well presented.

what an attractive use of perspective, a very dynamic and elegant composition. The structures and their textures stand out most effectively all the way to the distant background that reaches the opposite side of the vertical frame. The umbrella is a delightful detail and the human presence adds liveliness in a discreet way. I like very much the intense but sweet colours and the bold patterns they create in the frame. Excellent graphic work and vivid natural impression. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

J'ai reconnu de suite que c'était à Marsaxlokk, la couleur des pavés, avec les terrasses, bon cadrage serré et profondeur

Good use of the linear perspective with those lines leading us into the people at the table and on through the shot. Clear shot with good depth.

Another nice shot!I like the pov, the colours and the pattern of the pavement that leads our eyes to the table. Malta seems really beautiful and interesting!
I'll try to send you the email this weekend:)!
