A little information about Valletta from Wikipedia:
Valletta is the capital of Malta, colloquially known as Il-Belt (English: The City) in Maltese. It is located in the central-eastern portion of the island of Malta; the historical city has a population of 6,675. Valletta is the second southernmost capital of the EU member states after Nicosia.
Valletta contains buildings from the 16th century onwards, built during the rule of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, also known as Knights Hospitaller. The city is essentially Baroque in character, with elements of Mannerist, Neo-Classical and Modern architecture in selected areas. World War II left major scars on the city. The City of Valletta was officially recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980.
The official name given by the Order of Saint John was Humilissima Civitas Valletta — The Most Humble City of Valletta, or Città Umilissima in Italian. The bastions, curtains and ravelins along with the beauty of its Baroque palaces, gardens and churches, led the ruling houses of Europe to give the city its nickname Superbissima — Most Proud.
The city was named after Jean Parisot de Valette, who succeeded in defending the island from an Ottoman invasion in 1565. Immediately after the end of the Siege of Malta in 1565, the Order decided to found a new city on the Xiberras peninsula to fortify the Order's position in Malta and bind the Knights to the island. The foundation stone of Valletta was laid by the Grandmaster of the Order, Jean Parisot de Valette on 28 March 1566. De Valette placed the first stone in Our Lady of Victories Church.

Ces photos de rue avec des magasins et scènes de la vie quotidienne sont toujours superbes à regarder.
Les couleurs, les enseignes de magasins, les personnes et une rue comme celle ci pavée.
Un cadrage avec une belle perspective

A nice street view of Valetta. I like the way you have captured the street which stretches to infinity. And for the few people who are in their own moods.

Excelent DOF through the narrow pedestrian street, Stephen.
With the addition of people, the colorful signs and the beautiful shopes facades, balconies with green shutters - all culminate to superb scene.
Nice taken the middle POV, used well the backlight from above.

the English influence is still visible with the Wembley Store nicely in the FG.
With the occasional shopper dotted about it`s fine representation of the area.

J'aime beaucoup le point de vue, directement au milieu de la rue piétonnière ce qui donne une grande profondeur à l'image et nous permet de bien voir les célèbres balcons de la ville.

Hello Stephen - Looking at the shops and in particular the Wembley Store we can see the English influence lives on. How fascinating! This looks like a nice pedestrianised street to walk down and window shop. A good DL shot with plenty to enjoy. I do like the repeating green theme of the balconies, they tie in well with the Wembley!

This is one long long street, and this gives your capture a great sense of depth and scale. A busy and pretty looking place, especially as everybody looks so relaxed in their surroundings. Is that a knight I see on the right on the red carpet?
Looks like the weather was beautiful this day too.

La longueur de la rue donne de la perspective et de la profondeur à la composition. La présence des gens anime la scène. Tu as bien capturé l'action qui se passe sur cette rue. Bonne soirée.

A very enticing streetscape. I like the perspective which leads the eye to a vanishing point at the top of a distant rise. Like many streetscapes, a bright sky with a dominant foreground in full shade makes it difficult to squeeze the full range of tones onto the histogram. However the details of the main focus of interest, the street, have been presented well. As always, you have created an interesting note to accompany the image.

Ah le charme des rues de la Valette avec ces façades aux balcons qui font leurs particularités de Malte, excellente profondeur, détails et couleurs, superbe présentation

The lights are OK not strong

The dual sides of the narrow street add superb diminishing linear perspective and vanishing point. Lots of details to observe and the people add scale and enliven the street-scene. Good sharpness, colour and saturation. Tfs!

Salut cher Stephen
A very characteristic and pretty street, like so many in Valetta. I love the details and the off-centre symmetry. The light coming in from above looked difficult to work with but you've come off with an impressive shot.
Best wishes...mid week...yay!
