Dingli Cliffs are located off the vilage of Dinglii,on Malta´s western coast. They stage the highest point of the Maltese islands at around 253 meter above sea-level.
And as it seems it is also very popular place to get rid of old cars.I found many of them about 100 meters below.
See the WS picture:)

I like the mild light and the color contrast warm/cold of the golden FG with the blue hazy BG of the sky and waters
A splendid result
Best regards, have a nice WE

A stunning shot of this wonderful part of this little island. A real sense of the scale and height in this magnificent image. Love the golden light. This amazing place is etched into my mind, because when on Malta, a few years ago, I made friends with this guy staying in my hotel, and he offered me a lift to see these amazing cliffs. On the way I asked him why he was on holiday alone, he then told me he just needed to get away as he had suffered a mental breakdown in the UK. You can imagine how I felt seeing the wrecked cars!!
Have a great weekend - B.

When I was in Malta I read about the Dingli Cliffs and went to see them. But that day very dense fog banks were hanging over the coastline and the views were very disappointing. At sea there were huge waves and it was impossible to take a boat to the Blue Grotto.
Here you have a beautiful light shining on the cliffs. I guess you took the picture in the late afternoon. The well lit cliffs contrast strong with the blue Mediterranean.
Best regards, Paul

POV chosen show well the steep cliff "faling" to sea, Krzysztof. Painted with golden afternoon light that enhanced its outlines and gave contrast to blue.
Dumping old cars, will have effect on the environment, instead of recycle the materials. I find the WS as a warning sign to the local authorities.
Posted two nice pictures about Malta rural areas.
Enjoy your weekend,

Ciao e buon fine settimana

A breath taking wide view with excellent contrast between softness of blue water and the brightly lit foreground interest, nicely composed sharp in focus
with good sense of depth. Well done, TFS

this light and colours are strikingly familiar and evoke immediately the sweet and quiet atmosphere of late summer. I admire the way you managed them, allowing their natural shades and contrasts to shine through and enchant the viewer. Your point of view and choice of vertical frame is superb, there's vast depth and great textures all over. Beautiful, calm atmosphere at sunset. I prefer not to think about destroyed cars while looking at this view, although as a subject they are both worrying and interesting:)Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,

What a beautiful place, and you captured a great sense of height, as I feel a little dizzy looking at this! The water seems to be moving in the image as well, so a brilliant combination of sensations that you captured here. Lovely light as well, it brings the color of the cliffs out in wonderful contrast to the deep blue of the sea.
And what a strange thing that people dump cars here! Though I know its terribly messy to do this, the idea of pushing a car off a cliff does appeal to my inner child :)
All the best

Magnifique lumière sur cette superbe côte maltaise. Très bon point de vue.

Excellent view down to the blue sea. The shore rocks are in superb warm light.
macjake (49438) 2014-01-26 1:11
wow, thats amazing!
so they just dump old cars here? they just let them ride off into the sunset and die i guess?
thats incredible...so there's no scrap-metal business on the Island for old cars?
I wouldn't get too close to that edge if I were you :)
very interesting note and story about the cars, and the photo is sweet too, espcially with that warm glow.
a cool unexpected pic from Malta - you won't read about this in the guide book :)

Witaj dear Krzysztof
How sad that people think this is a remotely appropriate place to dump their car! The lack of respect for their beautiful environment is so sad, and it is something I noticed a lot while in Sicily and Naples. A beautiful golden cliff, shot in the vertical which guides our eyes out to sea and to the little island near the horizon. A magical shot, that makes me a little dizzy when I look down.
eldancer1 (23174) 2014-01-26 7:35
I like the lighting on this cliff, low angle normally makes landscape more beautiful. Good pov and dof with nice details. WEll done, tfs.
chrislo (3763) 2014-01-26 7:42
I like the downward viewpoint from the cliff and the lovely sunset colours on the rocks, contrasting so beautifully with the blue of the sea. Nice use of a fairly slow shutter speed to create soft textures on the water. The place may be a popular dive spot for discarded cars, yet it's a good thing to know this is not a favourite spot for desperate people eager to give up the ghost !
Cricri (97215) 2014-01-26 8:24
Toute belle vue plongeante, le contraste des couleurs illuminée par une très belle lumière, intéressant le WS!!
SnapRJW (27198) 2014-01-26 8:56
I love the warm tones here Krzysztof, the light has revealed so much detail in the cliffs. What a magical atmosphere, a place to sit and quietly contemplate the beauty of the location. Strange to think of dumping old cars off the edge.... a Thelma and Loise moment perhaps? Warm regards Rosemary
jcpix (9324) 2014-01-26 20:11
Say what? That's a crazy WS picture...how in the world doe's a car end up there?? I would love to know the story behind those! Anyway, on to to this beauty. I say it often I'm sure...but this is another perfect example of the "less is more" concept. Just the coastline and the open sea, what more do you need? :)
For a relatively small section of the cliffs, this is a very solid composition, and a great idea to shoot vertically, which helps fill the open space. Quite a sensation of the elevation too...hope you didn't get any closer than this, it makes me nervous just looking at it on screen!? That's a looooong way down! Sumptuous golden sunlight, which is a sweet accompaniment to the blue waters far below, and that boat out near the horizon is a solid reference point for distance. Clear an concise as usual my friend, you got it! Enjoy the day ahead...Monday, ugh! :/
Cheers from the sunny side,

Awesome view down from a cliff on warm late afternoon light. Good contrast and strong perspective. I remember this place from my visit, but the weather was cloudy then.
adramad (33662) 2014-01-28 7:19
Superb perspective captured from the top of the cliffs, almost dizzying, watching the image, beautiful lighting that almost vertical wall, which juts into the sea. Good perspective with the distant horizon.
A very nice colorful natural tones.
The lighting is very well treated and good sharpness for details and textures.
Have a nice day.

A lovely end-of-summer evening with a spectacular view. This is a much-needed relief during this long, cold winter.
