Luzzus of Marsaxlokk, a photo from Malta, South

Photographer's Note

Traditonal Maltese boats, luzzus, of Marsaxlokk village are shown on many pictures of Malta. I couldn't resist uploading my own version. This place is a must for holiday visitors.

Sunday is a market day in Marsaxlokk. Depending on how you like crowds, this day is to be preferred or avoided.

Oh, I really like the colourful boats!
So different from what we can see in the Nordic waters...
Good light and fine details, the scenery is well framed and presented in this well balanced composition!

Malta is one of my preferred serie of yours Kari, you have done beautiful images of the island, and this last is another beautiful example, compliments, good POV and excellent colors for this beautiful landscape.

Malta is still missing on my terrorized countries list, but I like these luzzus photos because they display a luminous array of colors. Your wide angle approach results in quite a busy frame, that tells as well there are a lot of detail photo opportunities all around.

I like the vibrancy of the bright colours of the luzzus. The light is wonderful and saturates those colours beautifully. In contrast we have the pastel coloured buildings and then the strong blue sky. Wonderful!

The light and colors in this photo are wonderful! The boats are very vibrant and the buildings are quite rich and nicely saturated. You have good balance in your composition and nice overall sharpness. An outstanding image.

Hi Kari - the way the boats are similarly painted gives it a unique appeal, the architecture is a bit boxy but interesting, like a cross between greek islands and north africa.

A lovely colourful shot of a picturesque harbour. Technically excellent and well composed. Kari, I am not 100% sure, but there seems to be a very slight tilt to the left. I may be wrong (coz I know you don't like tilted shots) but otherwise this is a excellent photograph of Marsaxlokk. Cheers . . . David
