Photographer’s Note

Picture taken in Dockyard Creek (a part of Grand Harbour) and looking into the direction of Valletta, the capital. On top you can see the arches of the Upper Barrakka Gardens from where one of my previous pictures (the one from Fort St. Angelo) is taken.

Left of the creek you see the peninsule Senglea.
At the right side a part of the new marina of Vittoriosa.

In the middle of the creek one of the many boats that make regular harbour cruises.

Hello Paul, When I first looked at this I thought WOW it looks like a painting, Love the saturated colours, well framed. A beautiful scene, well captured from a good pov.

Superb vantage POV, Paul. Magnificent historic vision in the background and great water color contrast. Fine inclusion of the boat approaching this way and interesting graphism at right. There's many details to observe here. Excellent capture.

Nicely composed. It was good that you waited for the tour boat to occupy that space. The WS has sharpened the BG a lot but I am not bothered by the haziness from that distance in your original shot. It seems more real somehow.

La Valette me semble valoir le déplacement! Et depuis ce superbe point de vue permettant une compo équilibrée avec les voiliers sur la droite, les quais a gauche et la vieille ville au fond... En plus il fait beau et ça donne se belles couleurs!

You found a wonderful POV to show so much of the area. The boat coming towards you is a very important feature of the image as there would have been a big area of empty water.

An amazing view of the harbour and the classic buildings in the background. I usually don`t like such a strong saturation, but in this case it`s absolutely splendid, and gives of that painting feeling, which can often fail, but not in this case. Congratulations.

It appears that Malta seems to be an island of dreams, located in the Mediterranean.

The view is splendid, with a blue water hard to match. Great composition, with the yachts in the harbor and the city background, with good handling of light and beautiful tones.

As a tourist/traveler or traveler/tourist I share the same feelings with you for TE (I read your profile!).
So, I'm taking a closer look at your pictures and there are many interesting ones! I chose this one now because it was taken in a place I've heard lots about it but I've never included in my plans for future traveling! I'm not sure I'll have time/money to visit it one day, but here I am, seeing that place thru your eyes and I really like it!
