A perspective on the Long Gallery that forms part of the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta, Malta.
The Upper Barrakka Gardens (Il-Barrakka ta' Fuq) are a public garden in Valletta, Malta. It is twinned with the Lower Barrakka Gardens in the same city, and offers a panoramic view of the Grand Harbour.
One of Valletta's most beautiful parks, it was created in 1775 on the bastion of St. Peter and Paul. In the park there are several statues, including one from Sir Winston Churchill, and a sculpture by the Maltese sculptor Antonio Sciortino, entitled Les Gavroches (The Street Boys). The garden was the gift of an eighteenth-century Italian knight. It was originally intended to offer recreation to the knights of the Italian langue, or department, of the Order of Saint John.
It is the highest point of the city walls, and thus its bordering terrace offers a clear view over the Grand Harbour and the old towns of Senglea and Vittoriosa, as well as over the shipyard and the lower-lying parts the capital.

Fine capture along the old garden arcades. I see the new benches but I find them useless, nobody will sit on them in that heat and strong sunlight.
Well taken, enjoy a fine Sunday afternoon.

a delightful shot of this gallery with an enticing perspective and lots of wonderful detail to admire too! June looks like a good month to visit as it seems to be less crowded, unless you scared them all away :-).
Enjoy your Sunday - B.

this is an interesting site and I like how you adjusted your composition to the grandiose, antique architecture that served the needs and ideals of its era. The perspective is very attractive, the details are great and it's easy to think about walking along, like in an open air museum. You managed the light very effectively, the colours are vivid and I also like the softness and clarity of the shadows. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

Excellent depth in this, the view through this gallery goes on and on and on, and the light was so good to illuminate every single aspect of the scene. The view leads brilliantly to the huge statue st the end too, which looks quite impressive, particularly the lions. I like a lot that the lions are each in different poses giving them a fine sense of realism. Nicely done.
And we had gotten away with the hurricane for the most part, but the crack of thunder that just rolled has been followed by some of the heaviest rain I have seen I months. As I sit here in my conservatory typing the rain is so unbelievably loud. Time for a nice coffee I reckon :)
