This is one of the longest streets of Valletta-St.Ursula street.
Very picturesque and as you see also steep streets,so it provides us with many photo opportunities.
Here I decided for sepia toning to emphasize old, historic look of the street.

Impressive shot on the street with great perspective and good choice the sepia tone. Well done!
Have a nice sunday.

Good morning Krzysztof,
Chosen a sepia tones, enhanced the old town texture on image, though a colors version would be also interesting. Probably did this due to light conditions.
Agreeable DOF along, fine sharp details, not many people out strolling - but many cars parking.

It is a good idea to present this photo with this tone cream (Sepai I'm not). The photo shot is superb and we begin to look at the details. It is very well composed and well done.
Friendly and good Sunday.

sembra una foto scattata negli anni '40 del secolo scorso.
Una elaborazione alla quale il soggetto si presta molto bene per la sua particolaritą fatta di alti palazzi e strade strette.
Ciao e buona domenica

love this! Such a great way to present this awesome shot. It adds to the mood and character of this old street so effectively. If it were not for the modern cars and signs this could be a shot from the past. Timeless in its own modernity! Superb as always.
Enjoy your Sunday - B.

I love this long and shifting perspective, the amazing depth, the abundance of repeating patterns and details, the quiet and timeless atmosphere of this photo. I like how your composition starts with the flower pot and people in the foreground and ends so smoothly with a little piece of sky at the other end of the road and the frame. Street and houses are interesting, the lines of parked cars look like a spine. The sepia was an excellent choice, it has added great style and pleasing warmth. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

Amazing that you can shoot downhill and still the frame be filled with only this urban vision, you really chose an optimal angle for this. And I really like the sepia treatment, it has served perfectly as you intended, to make this place look historic and filled with character. Another important element for me is the many signs filling the foreground, giving so much to view.
It seems that there is a lady at the bottom of the hill taking a picture of you too, perhaps you will turn up in somebody else picture here on TE :) Even the row of cars looks perfect, and that is rare as I go out of my way avoid having cars in shots, but here its a perfect inclusion.
mirosu (16273) 2014-03-02 6:07
You have captured this street view from excellent perspective. Monochrome sepia conversion works very well here.
Very well done.

bardzo udana praca - moje gratulacje! Swietnie uchwycona scena uliczna, glownie dzieki temu wysokiemu punktowi widzenia.

This is a famous view but you manage to breathe some new air into it. By including the plants in the foreground, which connects well with the persons further down, you really make us feel how steep the street is. The parked cars give good depth to the street further away, and it benefits the balance of the composition that the two long lines of cars are parked on opposite sides of the street. The many signs and the built-in balconies make the view lively and interesting. I also like the sepia tone.

Miales bardzo dobry pomysl z ta sepia. Niesamowita jest atmosfera tego zdjecia, ktora, jak samo mowisz, nawiazuje do starych czasow.
W tej kolorystyce nawet samochody wygladaja starodawnie... :)

Whoa, if it weren't for the lady on the stairs taking a picture with her phone, I would have thought you were around in the "40's" to have taken this shot!! Absolutely amazing conversion to sepia which has brought out the charm and luster of the vintage atmosphere conveyed from these old streets, given this perspective.
I remember well the color version, but this takes on an entirely new and everlasting appeal...the nostalgic sentiment is incredibly strong. Divided between three distinct sections, you've framed this to be most fundamentally sound. This vantage point would make the streets of San Francisco jealous. :) Full of character and element, this is a real beauty my friend! Enjoy the new week. Take it easy.
Cheers from the rain soaked Phoenix,

Fantastic transformation, Krzysztof - creative and effective! The street lends itself so well to a classic look, too, with its narrow width, flagstone and cobblestone surface, and older-style business signs. Only the fashions and automobiles give us a hint. And, as you mention, the steep nature of it provides a great angle and perspective - thanks!

Piękna perspektywa, bardzo dobrze wypatrzone, ma sie wrażenie, ze to dopiero początek długiego labiryntu, jest w tym coś tajemniczego
subhendu_bagchi (26089) 2014-03-02 21:16
Astonished!!! Amazing clarity through out the image with great details in such f-5.6 & 105mm combination. Love the frame, love the sepia tone. Excellent presentation from height. Tfs.

Ciao dear Krzysztof
Oooh I love this. It's so timeless and a real class act. I make no secret of it, I love your B&W and seeing this beautiful Barocque street in sepia has cemented that. The people in their modern dress are the only reasons why I wouldn't think this is from the 1950s. Superb vertical framing and symmetry.
Thanks for sharing, have a lovely day

Oh man, this is awesome.
I love how those two signs really stand out, and the long lineup of cars on the right is pretty cool too.
lots of depth, height, cool signs, and a cool atmosphere. nice one!

Initially this looks too busy but eventually it settles my eye! Lovely extreme depth and perspective and a great way to view deeper into the lively scene linked by the wavy narrow street flanked by olde buildings. An ideal place to really capture the atmosphere of yester years with its unique charm and grittiness packed by immense details. Exposure is manageable where the contrast has boosted the visual quality. Great capture.
ktanska (28022) 2014-03-10 12:46
A classic view from Valletta with centuries old buildings and strong feeling of history. Of course there's cars too, but even they don't disturb much on a B&W version. Thanks for showing. I think this is the same street where I took this one.
Mics (978) 2014-03-11 0:41
Well, you have a new approach in here. Nice, classic looking! Nice work:-)

Zdjecie to zrobione w sepi wyglada wspaniale jakby bylo z bardzo starego albumu.
Kompozycje do tego zdjecia z wysokiego miejsca dala swietna dluga perspektywe uliczki. Swietna tanacja oraz ostrosc tego zdjecia robi go arcydzielem.

I've seen several photos of Valetta streets and boy they are really gorgeous. I liked the color temperature you've used as it gives a vintage feeling. The car lined up, the perspective, and the people in this frame compliment each other. Great sharpness as well. I simply love this one!

This image has all the charm of a very old picture.
Very beautiful with the long row of cars and with the magnificent balconies.
On the right in the foreground I see the signboard of the hotel where I stayed.
Best regards, Paul

Seems your option for the sepia really worked! I like the pov and the cars and balconies along the road. I've never been there, but this is the idea I have about the city. Good shot!
mjw364 (1312) 2014-11-14 1:44
I really like this. I love the tone which gives it the old film feel and I love the compressed perspective and the great long line of cars that take your eye upward. Well composed as always from you.
Have a good weekend.
