Simple,daily-life scene taken on one of Valletta´s streets early in the morning before tourists "take over" control over the city:)
It gives great opportunity to feel the real life of the city and its inhabitants.
I couldn´t decide which version I prefer,so in WS I enclosed sepia version of this picture.
I hope you´ll like it.

This is a very nice street-shot. Lots of colours and lots of human presence. The photo shows life going on at a pleasantly low speed. I like the well saturated colours and the good contrasts, also the connection between you and the salesman sitting outside his very small shop.

Thanks for the note written, now time to visit this church, for you it's a closer distance to go.
Fine street view on an ordinary day out in the old town.
One man was watching you with an inquisitive look, the other man appeared to hear some news on an old transistor radio... and an elderly person taken his daily stroll.
Wonderful the archi.details, green shutters on the doors and part of a marvelous balcony above.
Cheers for a nice perspective, well done.

Hello Krzysztof - On balance I think I prefer the colour version, the green doors are so wonderful especially sandwiched between the red shop front and the shopkeeper with his display of textiles. I like the quiet, relaxed atmosphere you present here. Don't you think towns have a special charm when only the locals are out and about? I do! Warm regards Rosemary

Aah, that moment of calm before thh hoards of tourists come to flock the streets :) I always love to be out at this time, and when I travel, I always rise early to see these scenes, its like looking at the soul of the city! The man looking at the camera directly brings a definite mood to the scene, and I like the older man too, out to do his errands before the rush.
Beautiful lighting too.
Thanks as always!

I'd like to join my compliments for this daily life image. Excellent spontanous shot "before tourists" fill this street. Fine details of the buildings, I think this place has the same view and 100 years ago.

ladna scenka uliczna, podoba mi sie jak kazdy obecny w niej czlowiek zachowuej sie i wyglada zupelnie inaczej. Ciekawa kolorystyka, zwlaszcza te zielone drzwi i okiennice mocno kontrastuja z caloscia.
Dobry kadr i ladna prezentacja.

nice back street shot of Malta's capital. It is so unchanged from when I visited a good few years ago (non digital camera days). Love the laid back mood in this shot that is both colourful and characterful. Excellent!
Regards - B.

The sepia version has more the mood of an old postcard ...
but I do like colours very much.
And since the Maltese have chosen to paint their doors, windows and other woodwork in bright green or red,
I think the coloured version is the best presentation for a daily life-picture in the streets of Valletta.
Best regards, Paul

un piccolo ritaglio di vita quotidia, ma sempre ben curato in ogni dettaglio nel quale il colore diviene il protagonista.
Ciao e buona serata

a lovely and interesting photo that combines architecture and daily life. I like very much the way you used perspective and how accurately you framed your picture. Colours, details and human interest are effectively distributed in the frame, there are no distractions and there's a sense of tranquility and harmony. I find the human presence significant and intriguing, there could be endless variations of this photo, depending on the people passing through the frame. It's great to know that options are endless:) I prefer the colour version, I think the scene needs the vivid colours, the details are more attractive, the light and the atmosphere are more pleasing too. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

namaste, a nice daily life scene which you presented here with excellent depth. I like this colourful frame as well those arched doors at back. Excellent composition.

This is a super daily life scene on a street in Valletta, it looks so laid back pace of life here. The guy to the right looks like he is listening to something.
I prefer it in colour, it's vibrant full of life just at a more relaxed pace, wonderful.

Ciekawa scenka uliczna pokazujaca mniej turystyczna twarz Malty.

Hey, when did you slip this in...I completely missed it!? Whew, I AM getting old! :) What a shot, I can never get enough of these types of street scenes...the back streets, the ones not on the main drag or expressly made up for tourism...this is real life.
There's such a great vibe here too, and the three men you've captured are the icing on the cake. One casually walking down the street, one looking back over his shoulder at you, and the third...well, I don't know what in the world he's doing...but each one tells a story.
And then you have such rustic rich green and red color to contrast with the neutral tones of the buildings themselves...and also a touch of blue for good measure. I probably would have gone straight for that big arched door, but this wider view is much more interesting. Plain and simply put, I love it! :)
Happy Friday, welcome to the weekend.
My warmest wishes,
Cool WS treatment too, gives it a antique kind of look.

A delightful shot - off the beaten track of the worn tourist route. I love these types of shots, firstly because they fascinate me and are timeless, but also because it takes bravery to go off the tourist route and take a beautiful photo that is more like a historical record than a happy holiday snap - and not always in safe conditions. I truly can't decide between the colour and sepia versions, each has their own qualities, but I probably would have opted for the colour, as you did. And is that old guy in the right corner talking on a mobile phone? Hilarious! A wonderful contribution to TE, and I blame you (and Daniel) for motivating me to go to Malta :)
Cheers and happy weekend

Amazingly quite relaxed daily street scene and what a beautiful composition with splashing bright colors being part of strong element helping to settle the focus. Lots of interests and details, particularly the rustic olde feel, to pick out. A slice of daily life for you have captured the moment precisely finding interest in people going about their everyday lives. It's a finely displayed shot making this an intriguing capture in its own worlde charm. Awesome shot. Congrats, TFS

I certainly enjoy this photo more than the sepia one, I'm glad you picked the correct shot :)
the green doors with the black horizontal bars on them stand out so well, whereas in the sepia shot it does not. Same thing with the Mallia sign in green.
it also works well because of the lack of tourists and the fact the man is giving you the stare down! haha
whats the man on the right doing? trying to figure out how to use a cell phone? haha
nice shot indeed

Belle scène de vie, avec les façades typique de Malte, les détails, couleurs, la présence des trois personnes dans des positions et scène différentes, j'ai beaucoup aimée visitée Malte, ( je préfère cette version en couleurs)
