I don´t have much to say about this scene. It´s one of these street scenes you immediately know you want to immortalize with your camera.I´ve found it quite funny-don´t park here and the woman making a break on the street.
It was taken in Valletta-capital of Malta and then processed in Photomatix(to bring out all textures of this old wall).
I hope you´ll like it!

This is truly extraordinarily, you placed the small pole prefect between the legs of the lady.
The door with "don't parking here" gives a specially touch to these picture.
Wonderful composition, great presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

Besides the red door, I look on the carved decorations elements above the lintel of the blue door, wish you had focused more towards this. Especially with the cell-busy lady, that added life to the whole.
Anyway, a fine daily life scenery, well collected.
Have a nice afternoon,

hi krzysztof. fine textures and nice colors you did find in the back streets of valletta. this is a microcosmos photo when you think of other photos taken from far. it seems you tried hard to include the sitting lady. she is almost out of the cadrage :)

The textures of the walls and door are incredible, one of those image I feel I could touch the screen and get the feel of the rough stone. The colors of the red and vibrant blue against the sandstone look superb, and the detailing on both the door and the window above it are superb. The lady sitting there just up from the warning sign is very funny Great shot, as always thanks for sharing something unique.
All the best

What great find, the eye is drawn straight to an appealing dilapidation on the wall of this weather beaten facade revealing it's age old maturity. I love the intricate details, grittiness and the tight framing and obviously it possesses a certain charm and character that I find enchanting. The stark contrast of colour and the woman are just the right blend to complete the composition. In this instance i guess, there's nothing you can you do with the pole. Great capture and tfs

you are the master when it comes to using Photomatix. You manage it so expertly and do not overdo it, but make it bring out the textures and hidden colours so beautifully. This shot is testament to that expertise and it makes the image all the more moody and fascinating. As you say a tableau that just cries out to be captured and presented like this. Full of character and strangely mesmerising. Love it!

Simple but effective composition. I like the inclusion of the woman, it provide scale. Good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.

This is a kind of photo that I like very much. I love the faded colours of the wall and doors, the many small details and the inclusion of a person. It's in a way a very simple street-shot, but it is well observed and the balance of colours is beautiful.

Hello Krzysztof ,
Attractive old facades full of textures and coloured doors . Fine bonus of the presence of the woman . May be it would have been better if she had not been just behind the pole .
bona (13711) 2013-11-20 8:38
great photo. In many photos of Europe I saw walls with this kind of yellow color. Here in Brazil I never saw this kind of color on walls and it is very attractive. Beautiful colors and inclusion of the woman.

a lovely and interesting scene which, in spite of its minimal composition, evokes a lot of the characteristic charm of Valetta. The lady's role is a little reduced because of the pole in front of her, she's an integral part of the scene, though, her presence brings human warmth and interest and maybe enhances even more the mystery of the closed doors. Your treatment has rendered the old textures and the colours so attractive and significant. I could stare at these two doors for ages. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

nice the colours of the scene with the light management to enhance the vivid of them. The sitting woman on the strairs adds life in the image making her break on them.Excellent presentation with the characteristic Maltese atmosphere to dominating the scene.Well done.

Ciao e buona notte

I can understand why you were attracted to this image - it is terrific - the colours all work so well together - the lady looks to be texting on her phone a common sight all over the World.
I also like to take these images & like you - I snap away with great pleasure.

I usually look at pictures with a great sense of what I immediately feel toward the photo...and with this one, it simply mesmerized me.:-) I find it charming and gives me a feel of the character of the place. The way it was composed, the colors that are present, the details on the image,...they are all very well captured. Lovely!

Dobry kadr z ta pania z boku ozywiajaca obraz. Przy okazji - ciekawy zestaw barw.

The strong colours and HDR work well in this genre of photo. I like the human element and the impressive details in the brickwork and doors. Excellent work, very characteristic.
Have a lovely day

Thumbs up! I really like this kind of the street photos. Marvelous colors, this graphic of the old paint reminds me a picture of some impressionists from the past. Well seen. Another interesting presentation of the Malta's daily life.
mirosu (15989) 2013-11-21 5:08
Many thanks for congratulations. I appreciate it very much.
You are posting a brilliant old house doors close-up photo with well balanced colors, perfect light, very good clarity. The well-chosen tight crop eliminates all unwanted distractions. Nice to see the woman sitting in front of the door, she add a bit life to the scene. Well done.

Hi Krzysztof - The first thing that strikes me here are the colours and textural details. There is an attractive soft and harmonious look to the shot which I am sure comes from your PP work... nicely done! A simple but detailed composition, the contrast between the elaborately decorated blue door and skylight and the basic 'Don't Park Here' door is stark and a good feature of the shot. Nice work. Warm regards Rosemary
macjake (64788) 2013-11-21 13:18
Well its pretty darn hard not to like this photo isnt.
Its right up both our alley's :)
Loving the textures and how i feel as if i can reach out and touch those walls.
That splash of blue is excellent too.
Awesome grab photo as your're walking by!
See you around

I think that the woman is very lucky that the door has no sign 'Don't sit here' :)
A beautiful street shot of Valletta. The blue and the red door make a colourful scene together with the faded yellow of the wall.
The textures of the wall at the left side look wonderful.
Valletta is one of those places where you can take lots of splendid shots.
Best regards, Paul

Like it...why yes I do!! This is precisely why, and when the subtle use of HDR works so darned well. I can't get enough of the textures in this shot, much like your previous one of the three colored doors along the street. It's gritty and raw, and yet carries with it a soft touch from the lady sitting on the step. Perfect addition by the way, she compliments the entirety of the scene.
I'm surprised to see this sign in English, is it that well known/used in this tiny Mediterranean nation? The tri-color scheme here is great, simple and so very effective for contrast and tone. You must have had such a wonderful time just roaming the streets, finding scenes like this to photograph...something that I too would thoroughly enjoy. Since I'm so far away though, I'll just have to sit back and admire your precision and well thought out compositions. Another fantastic shot my friend, always waiting in anticipation for the next. Have a great weekend.

c'est une superbe scène de rue, bonne observation.Les couleurs et la texture du mur et des portes sont bien traitées.
Bonne insertion dans le cadre, de la dame assise.
adramad (43159) 2013-11-23 16:54
Sensational picture with many details and textures in these old walls and doors, which have been spending every day, the girl sitting on the stair, put the vital touch to the image, which also shows a nice chromaticism.
Very good image quality, sharpness is also ideal.
Very good job.
Enjoy the weekend.

This is an image that I would love to have taken. There is s good juxtaposition of the door and the lady (a bit of a shame that the pole partly obscures her). The colours faded colours of the walls and door are lovely and I do admire the sharpness of your picture. A very good shot - TFS.
Kind Regards, Ann

The red and blue doors in contrast to the yellow/golden wall makes this scene very attractive. It looks as if this shot was captured in the same area as your earlier "Tricolore" from Malta. Almost a scene I would normally guess was caught in Cuba or South America. Great work:) Thanks.
Best regards, Erling

Thak you for your nice critique and I hope will continue keeping in touch
Kaisa71 (228) 2014-02-21 12:47
Oh yes, I really like this photo. Colors are beautiful (especially blue) and texture of the wall is vivid, like suede. Good cropping and sharpness. Photo would be somehow empty without the woman sitting on the stair so all I can say is excellent!
Best wishes, Kaisa
