Valletta is pre-eminently an ideal creation of the late Renaissance with its uniform urban plan, inspired by neo-Platonic principles, its fortified and bastioned walls modelled around the natural site, and the voluntary implantation of great monuments in well-chosen locations.
The capital of Malta is one of the rare urban inhabited sites that has preserved in near entirety its original features. It is inextricably linked to the history of the military and charitable Order of St John of Jerusalem. It was ruled successively by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and the Order of the Knights of St John. The city has undergone no important modifications since 1798, the date when it was abandoned by the Knights of St John.

very nice renaissance architectural details and good idea for cropping to focus on those details. the modern looking glass on old yellow stone makes a strange combo. it is like a hybrid of skyscraper & castle.

The crop is perfect, producing a wonderful perspective along these balconies. Beautifully lit with superb colours and clarity. The shadows cast under the balconies provide additional interest. Have a good weekend.

its very hard to photograph architecture like this, for one thing most people don't think to photograph a large wide building in such a tall narrow space as you have done here.
its a challenge!
but the long stroke of blues really help and in my opinion make the scene work. I think they work well as a focal point for the building, and we trace it down the line with our eyes.
I ilke this style of compo with streets, but its hard with buildings - but of course its all subjective and just my own personal taste - so who knows! :)
it worked out well, the repetitive shapes and forms help too.
whats next from Malta?

this is an exquisite composition. You've chosen your point of view and arranged the architectural patterns with admirable skill. The perspectives have been perfectly managed, sharpness, light and contrast management have been well considered and the result is a rewarding picture of great elegance laid out in a strikingly narrow frame. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,

Great shot of this beautiful architecture in Valletta. Your chosen angle of view gives great depth and perspective while at the same time the close crop adds intensity to this technically perfect photograph. Thanks and have a good weekend.

a wonderful crop this and testament to your eye for making a piece of architectural symmetry come alive. Love the lines and the sharp detailing that is both captivating and a really compelling perspective. Love this!
Enjoy the weekend - Brian.

Ciao e buon fine settimana

sei il fotografo delle linee spezzate, utilizzi taqli orizzontali si soggeti verticali e tagli verticali su soggetti orizzontali, come in questo caso e devo dire che i risultati sono sorprendenti e piacevoli.

The regularity of these architectural elements looks very harmonious. Your tight framing on these details makes the picture graphical.
