Photographer’s Note

Mosta Dome, in Malta.
Mosta boasts the third largest unsupported dome in Europe dedicated to the Assumption. The Feast of the Assumption is held on August 15 and it is a public holiday. The church is also known as the Rotunda of St Marija Assunta. On 9 April 1942, the church was nearly destroyed during World War 2. An Axis bomb pierced the dome of the church but failed to explode. The detonator was removed and a replica bomb is now displayed as a memorial.

Nice full shot Agnes, clear sky and light. The sharpness and clarity of the photo is well done. Quite a useful note you gave. Surprising to find the largest unsupported dome in one of the smallest places in europe.

Very nice and crisp shot. I like the fact that you included the stairs in your frame. Adds some different lines to the overall picutre. Perhaps I would have tried to remove (clone out) the street sign on the right.

This is a realy nice photo but it isn't Mosta this church looks a little like Mosta but it is a lot smaller and is in mgarr Malta.
