Photographer’s Note
This is a view of the Alter in the Roman Catholic Mosta Rotunda, or Church of St.Mary.
On the 9th of April three German bombers where being pursued by British fighters. One of the German planes flew over the Town of Mosta and ejected it's payload, a 500 pound bomb. The church took a direct hit, with 300 people inside. The bomb penetrated the 37 meter dome, then hit the painting of Christ with the Apostles and another wall before coming to rest on the floor. I guess depending on your Religious beliefs, some consider this event a Miracle, as not one person was injured or killed. The bomb failed to detonate and was then defused.
There is a replica of the bomb in the sacristy of the church. I have attached a photo of the bomb as a workshop.
As for the photo. The church was very dull and required a long exposure. I used the floor and my lens cap to tilt the camera for the 3 second exposure.

Hello,
the colours are good and the picture is sharp here.
I like the way the composition was made, in the uppwards direction with wider view.

Hey Rodders,
You've done a great job with your long exposure. The colour saturation and the DOF is excellent. The POV/framing is great as well.
I visited this church many moons ago (without a camera alas!) and happily I recognised the scene right away.
Another great note and very helpful tips on shooting.
Cheers

Hello Rodney,
I am amazed by the story! I have noticed the workshop, too. The exposure of your photo is very well done, balanced, with an excellent light management. Thank you very much for the complete presentation.

Hello, Rodney.
What a fantastic picture and what a great and interesting note to accompany it!
The quality and sharpness of this picture is superb considering the makeshift apparatus you used to support your camera. I guess something slightly higher like a tin of beans (perhaps an edible support would be a good idea for the camera bag) might have given you a slightly better viewpoint but really, this is fabulous.
Excellent!
Best Wishes,
John.
