Marsaxlokk is a traditional fishing village much frequented by tourists located in the south-eastern part of Malta, with a population of 3,499 people (March 2013). The village’s name comes from marsa, which means "port" and xlokk, which is the local name for south east. The word is related to the name for the dry sirocco wind that blows from the Sahara, comparable to the equivalent Catalan word, "xaloc". The village is known for the Marsaxlokk Market, a large market which takes place around the whole village on Sundays and tourist market all days during the week. The inhabitants of the village are called the Xlukkajri and are historically fishermen though a large proportion are now involved in tourism

una prospettiva di ..... affamati.
Molto bella e originale, hai sfruttato al meglio quello che offriva l'orario, difficile arrivare alla chiesa senza fermarsi a mangiare qualcosa.

Hi Stephen, All people hide in the shadow under umbrellas, only one girl prefers to make some pictures. Nice composition.

Wonderful view of this location with a lot of old world charm. Must surely be an ideal place for tourists with the amount of activity visible through this photograph. The perspective with the lead line right up to the lovely building with the two towers is perfect with the details pin sharp all the way.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice evening.

It is a great Sunday destination!
Your photograph has captured the mood and the location very well; we see happy crowds, an attractive setting and glorious sunshine!
Your viewpoint ensures that every detail is observed, with the church as a rewarding end point.
Have a lovely day,
When we were there, they had just received a small boat, full of illegal migrants from N. Africa. The people were in a sad state of health! Seemingly, it is quite a regular occurrence.

Ahh! now this is no new tall buildings Malta. Just as I remember it, full of wonderful charm and character. Looks like Sunday lunch here is just as busy as a warm summers day in England too! Irresistible!
Have a great weekend - B.
Totally miserable here today and its cold! Hope summer has not gone away just yet! B.

We can alone but dream of this sunny weather, everyday rain, and 17° Celsius middle of the summer.
A lovely area with the old buildings and splendid market place..
You chose a very well angle, this cares for depth and perspective
Addition of the people gives more life at the picture
Sharpness and colours are pleasant.
Excellent captured nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

The shades over the cafe there look very eastern to me, and add a nice touch to this fine urban scene, the cathedral taking pride of place and seeming to have its very own personality as it sits there watching over all the passers by, fine but sky, I miss that. I like the leading line of the pathway too.

La présence des gens animent la scène. La longueur de la rue donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de les détails des immeubles et de l'église. La bonne luminosité rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Nice scene from street.
Good frame, colors and persp[ective.
I like church.
macjake (69775) 2014-08-21 5:15
some harsh light in the sky there, looks pretty strong!
no clouds around to buffer it, but what can you do?
fine composition with the cathedral smartly placed at the 1/3 location, and the overall scene has a very friendly vibe/feel to it.
excellent light along the mid and bottom portions though.
thanks for this one

As usual I am drawn to your atmospheric street scenes. There is something about street café culture that I really like. The brightly coloured chairs and the relaxed postures of the people make for a lovely scene. Very well taken.
Kind Regards, Ann
