Tiger Cub Style, a photo from Malta, South

Detail on the back of a Maltese bus. Buses of Malta used to be old, yellow, hot, polluting, very original and nostalgic. That was until 2011, when the public transport system of the whole country was modernised, and the network was taken over by Arriva.

Leyland Tiger Cub was a lightweight bus chassis built between 1951 and 1970. Bus bodies were locally built in Malta, and in early 2000s it was hard to find two of the same kind.

Hello Kari - Another bus, another Leyland. This one is so decorative and individual, someone has lavished love and attention on the paint job and it shrieks individuality. Super close crop and a lovely symmetrical presentation. Warm regards Rosemary

as you say, this is very original and unique.
must be hard to find one of these around town.

I love this! The close up, the immaculate details and strong saturation work so well. And like Rosemary, John and I, you've now joined the elite membership of the Leyland Club ;) Amazing that you found this doyen of Britain in Malta, but then again, there is a very English side to Malta isn't there? Great work, thanks for sharing. What fun!

what a coincidence(you were lately in Hong Kong,now you show us Malta,even if they´re some older photos)and I´m going to Malta in Septemper.I´m just sad I´ll not see such old busses as they´re not in service anymore.But your excellent close-up shot captures perfectly some details of it.Leyland seems to manufactured some of the most amazing busses.I enjoy these strong,vivid colors that immediately catches our eyes.Nice and expressive scene!
