This is the view on The Three Cities-Cospicua,Vittoriosa, and Senglea. They are also referred to as "Cottonera".
I took this picture from Lower Barakka Garden in Valletta, which provides excellent view on these three cities.
I also decided to add a little "geometric"element to the scene and to use the fence to make it more interesting(at least I hope so:)
I hope you´ll like it!

an original and striking view of the famous fortress city of Valletta. Lots of wonderful fg symmetry that contrasts superbly with the irregularity and warm tones of the architectural beauty beyond. Works perfectly.
Enjoy your weekend - B.

I like this.
Your intention of adding interest has worked.
The leaded window adds a sense of story, of history, as we look down onto the sea and the harbour. We could imagine someone locked away and searching for a rescuer, or a lover waiting for her beloved to return from sea. There are enough details to produce an impression of this very beautiful location.
Have a great day,

an interesting composition using a unique POV. Love the view outside through the graphical texture of window. Excellent thinking. Well executed. Tfs.

Good evening Krzysztof,
Added nice geometric's behind the iron bars, but from a garden not a jail...
Fine view above sea and town, imprerssive fort on the waterfront, and a marina on both sides.
A widr view would show more of the canon, but you may loose the perfect effect of the wrought-iron fence.

great photo with a bit scary feel to it! I'm glad it's no barbed wire fence though:))
Awesome colors - the deep blue of the sea matches perfectly the sandy walls of the city. Great job!
Have a fab weekend!

As soon as I saw this I felt like a child again, imagining target practice :) But I never got to play such games in a place as amazing as this. The way that fort juts out into the sea makes such an amazing view, and the way you have composed it to include the path and grass at the bottom add a brilliant sense of depth to the whole result. Such vivid colors, the blue and sand complement each other to perfection!
Thanks as always

a superb composition that makes so much of the fascinating view and colours ahead. You've added interest and value to both the geometrical grid in the foreground and the splendid view of the fortress and cities. I love this playful edition that breaks in pieces and reconstructs the view all the time. There's also a play of symmetry and depth, and a marvelous chromatic contrast to delight our eyes. Original, graphical and delightful work, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,

You have found a brilliant and creative way to frame this city. Through the wrought-iron fence, the fort appears as a target perfectly placed where the lines meet, making it a strong point of interest. I like how the blue sky and sea come in between the sand-coloured city in alternating layers. Great POV and composition. Well done.

nice the view of this section of Cottonera from behind of the symmetrical rail of Barakka garden.I like the panoramic view of the pplace as we can see a lot of details as the beauty of it.

Well, I think it's safe to say you already know my take on this shot, and since I'm running short on time, I'll simply say "brilliant!" :) You've set your target and lined it up with an innovative composition, well seen...and well scene!
Sharp detail and rich, natural colors...the deep blue waters and touch of green grass are a delightful compliment to the entire view over the fortified village. Great work as always my friend. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Cheers from the American Southwest,

ha! Amazing idea to create this composition, Krzysztof,
It looks like a view of target through sight. But I hope nobody wants to shoot at this wonderful old fortress ;)
This town with the fortress, these colors bring me back to Corfu.
have a great Sunday!

As a wise move, grasp this great panoramic, meaning through the fence, gives an extra charm to the composition and a nice geometric touch, without blind us with delight this beautiful city, surrounded by the blue waters of the Mediterranean.
Magnificent this range of very natural colors.
Very well maintained brightness and optimum sharpness.
Well done. I love it.
Have a nice Sunday.

Wonderful setting in which to capture an image with excellent focus control to give the eye something of interest leading to main ponit of view behind the iron grill. Good use of dof, excellent clarity and rich in colours, Congrats. Tfs

are you setting up a gun shot here lol
looks like you have the city in its sights :)
with or without the black iron in the photo it looks great, with a city like that its pretty much beautiful from any way we look at it!
its a bit surprising to see the lower portion so void of people, I wonder was it during an unpopular time of day or something?
great views from here.
Looking at your latest post from Chicago REALLY makes me want to go there!!

Une vue de la Valette qui sort de l'ordinaire, un effet de symétrie très réussi tout comme la précision du cadrage, belle réalisation
delpeoples (59886) 2014-03-25 18:45
I like this as it gives us an interesting perspective, the black wrought iron contrasting nicely with the golden and azure colours of the background. The high POV works well and you managed the contrasting light conditions superbly. Great job.

You did very well capture this city in spite of minor obstacle. Good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.
