In a city of limestone, any green spot of natural freshness is a bliss.
Birgu, also known by its title Città Vittoriosa, is an old fortified city on the south side of the Grand Harbour in Malta. It played a vital role in the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. Its population stood at 2,673 in March 2013. Birgu is a very old locality with its origins reaching back to medieval times. The city occupies a promontory of land with Fort St Angelo at its head and the city of Cospicua at its base. Birgu is ideally situated for safe anchorage, and over time it has developed a very long history with maritime, mercantile and military activities. Prior to the establishment of Valletta as capital and main city of Malta, military powers that wanted to rule the Maltese islands would need to obtain control of Birgu due to its significant position in the Grand Harbour.

Very well seen and photographed subject! Like how you cropped the scene and used the lights to build this beautiful view. Charming one! TFS.

it always amazes me how nature will thrive in the most unusual places. This vine/tree looks like it has found just the right place to put down roots and despite lack of any obvious moisture it does offer a wonderfully organic contrast to its surroundings. Good diagonal and use of shade to make the greens so attractive.
Have a good Sunday - B.

J'aime beaucoup ce cadrage vertical car il accompagne bien la cascade de fleurs et de verdure qui grimpe le long du mur. Une très bonne gestion de la lumière difficile.

A simple but very nice composition. The tree shows an admirable strength to grow so tall in such a place. I like the combination of green plant, green wall and light brown door. Well seen and nicely cropped.

bel titolo e bella interpretazione, hai messo in risalto il contrasto tra il verde delle foglie e quello della pittura murale.
Bella anche la luce, soprattutto sulle foglie.

Wonderful smooth & soothing earthy colour combination from the slim view! What a find and credit to your keen observation in the first place, it's packed with its own charm and feel of time gone by and clever placement of the antique street lamp inviting us to look deeper! Simple by awesome, Congrats

Hello Daniel - The twisted branches of the Wisteria will climb and cling and here they look fabulous doing so against the green wall. A simple, well observed shot where the colours are attractive and harmonious.

This see we almost in all cities a lot concrete and stones but almost no green
The last time are the urbanisations better and better for more green in the cities
But your picture is wonderful of quality.
Excellent composition and nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice week,

Bon format verticale qui met en valeur "lierre" garnissant le mur, le plus avec l'inclusion de la journée

This is simple but very nice urbanist composition, the white frame with a signature makes excellent postcard.
I love this so attractive colors combination, the sharpness is perfect too!

You certainly have a very good eye for big, solid color and its effectiveness in a given setting. Another fine composition which plays to that strength. What might be an "ordinary' street scene is composed and displayed with much brighter appeal...and the mixture of painted green and natural green is a delightful bonus. Enjoy the new day. All the best.
