Picture taken in Comino in the month of May.

Comino is a very tiny island (3 square km) in the Maltese archipelago, situated about halfway between Malta and Gozo. Being car-free it’s a quite haven from the busy everyday life of the other islands.

Comino has a beautiful coastline with many small creeks and most tourists visit it for just one reason: the Blue Lagoon, a sheltered inlet with stunning turquoise water.

I have to admit that I was impressed by the brilliant blue water of this lagoon. But there was something else that impressed me even more. Guidebooks had described the island as very infertile. So I was surprised to find such a high number of plants in flower.

Named after the cumin that grows there, Comino is absolutely thick with wild herbs, thyme and flowers.
In late spring the island is the most beautiful. Depending of the amount of rain fall in winter, Comino can already be dry in the month of May or can be enjoyed with a very colourful vegetation.

Visit the Blue Lagoon but don’t forget the rest of the island. The sound of the sea and the humming of the bees will be the only sounds you will hear then.

Hi Paul,

Excellent POV. The bushes with its juicy leaves works well as a lead-in to the busy boatlife around the islands. TFS and have a nice evening!

Cheers,

Ulf

Hello Paul,
Another beautiful Sea and landscape. Beautiful lush greenery on the forground that has lot of details and texture of the plants and leaves. Nice water way for ships and sail boat. Beautiful blue sea. Good composition. Be aware not to distract the image with complicated border with multiple colors. It can be distracting sometimes. Just do black or simply leave some white for border. I think your image is good by itself without the frame.

They say the island is infertile? I would say they have to check a dictionary and learn the meaning of the word! You photo testifies to the contrary.
The POV is excellent and shows very well the beautiful lagoon. I love it.

Very nice place
The colours and the sharpness in your photo are great
Best regards

hi Paul

I hope to see more Malta from you like this one, which gives a nice FG green tone with the marina and blue water behind. I only wish the sky is better than the dull here.

Malta is also located not far from Italy or Greece and it must also have good places of interest. Keep shooting.

tfs, bill

Hi Paul,

great nature view! Nice light and excellent way to give importance to the green in the FG.

Hello Paul!
Your photo makes me happy that there are still some places where you can listen only to the "sound of the sea and the humming of the bees".
Excellent composition and colors.
Friendly regards,
Anton

Dag Paul,

Een goed POV, een mooie samenstelling met opeenvolgende plannen, een goed "depth of field" en een goed gebruik van het licht.
Goede avond,
Roger
