Mġarr is the largest fishing village on Gozo. In addition to the ferry terminal, a yacht marina is also located in the town. Mġarr is overlooked by Fort Chambray, constructed in 1749 by the Knights of St. John.
Ferry services to Malta were in operation by 1241, and fishing was already established. While the area around the harbour was developed over the following centuries, there was little development of the harbour itself until 1841, when a breakwater was constructed to provide more shelter to the port.

very nice port scenery taken from good POV. I like how the blue sky and sea frame the village adding nice and vivid color to the composition. The landscape gains a lot from beautiful architecture on the top of the hill which sets unusual contrast to the rather simple buildings of the village.
Very good light, natural colors and well given sharpness.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day

Un endroit que je ne connaissais pas du tout. Mais quel beau petit port de mer avec une ville dressée sur la colline. Des clochers magnifiques dans un ciel superbe.

I think the islands of Malta must have a world record for church density. I recall how I could see a chuch tower or a huge dome in whatever direction I was looking. These two churches dominate the view of the small harbour in spite of the large number of boats. Churches and boats and sunshine make this a very typical Maltese view. You used the good light and fine colours well.

A very attractive cityscape with the light brown buildings between the blue sky and the blue sea. Many beautiful and interesting architectural details to be enjoyed here and colours among the resting boats. A very pleasant view!

beautiful panoramic view of this lovely town. You managed to include both characteristic churches and the harbor and all in fantastic light. When I arrived there I was in rush to go further and on the way back again hurrying up for the last ferry so I lost this opportunity.
Beautiful work, very well done!

as you know, i really enjoy your photos from Malta.

this one here has a sweet color combination of blues, sandstones and whites from all those boats.
nice shot all around

a very interesting and pleasant view in the strong light of summer. I like very much the sense of depth and how the harbour and the town -simple buildings and splendid churches- are framed by the bright blues of sea and sky. You've rendered the details and the characteristic Mediterranean colours in an excellent way. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

This photo from Malta reminds me my trip to Corfu.
Good postcard format, the note is very informative. Not every village has got so wonderful and big churches.
Good presentation of new place (for me).
