The Playground Photo

Photographer’s Note

I was coming back from the mountain and somewhere just between the city and the mountain there it was, this improvised playground and these 2 kids playing some improvised football with their old football ball. I thought: "Look where those poor boys are playing their childhood games, all dirty from the dry ground..." But they looked happy to me and I was enjoying looking at them, probably smiling. They noticed me soon and continued playing...but when I pooled off my camera, they stopped playing after the first "click".

Did I ruin their game? Probably not, they must've forgotten me after few seconds:)

For those of u who think that I could've taken this by capturing the whole goal, by reposition myself to the right and decentralize - well u're wrong, right there on the very left side, there was this huge bright sun and I didn't want to shoot straight to it.

OK, second try :)
so this is the cherry on the cake ! ;D
The thumbnail reminded me of an old movie, "Zorbas the greek", where they built a similar construction to deliver logs from the mountains..but here it´s a goal and you made a score :)
I like the mood of this landscape, the little boys playing and the human traces..a mood like it was in my childhood.

Hi Gordana,
The fact that you do not show the whole goalpost just makes your picture more interesting. I like the composition of your picture and the B&W is a very good choice.

Fantastic POV,
Very nice colors,
But I regret the color of frame.
Image is diluting in that,I feel so.
How it would fit in the white ?

Fantasticna fotografija neguvajki go svojot stil, so mnogu dramaturgija i mistika. Bravo, mnogu mi se dopaga nacinot kako go imas zamisleno seto toa.

Zdravo Gordana. I was coming back from the mountain... Svidja mi se te rjeci, kao da je Mojsije kad se vratio sa deset zapovjedi. Salim se, ali volim neke tvoje izraze.As for the photo, great sepia effect and like the case with Chris, it does remind me of an old gritty movie like Zorba. Mood, light, composition and subject matter all come together here admirably. Black frame is fine, it takes one back to a film strip.Pozdrav. Klaudio.

Hi Gordana !
I do like this photo extremely. Children are great at playing with nothing but cheapest stuff and their own imagination only. The story is nicely put and interesting with that sepia tones.
