Marko's Towers or Markovi Kuli are situated to the north-west of the Prilep, Macedonia, just above the suburb Varoš. The locality of Marko's towers is located in one of the most picturesque medieval citadels in Macedonia. It is a hill surrounded by steep slopes covered with minute granite stones.
Remnants indicating the existence of an early antique settlement - Keramija. In the Roman period, this small village settlement expanded into the southwest area, which is suggested by the several marble ornaments of an early Christian basilica.
The rampart on this terrain dates from the 13th and 14th centuries and is in good condition. The walls are about one meter thick and were built of weaker limestone mortar and rest upon the large limestone rocks. Internal walls separated the acropolis into smaller areas.
The settlement was situated south of the acropolis on a surface of some 3,6 hectares. On its north side, there is a double gate, as well as a large guardhouse between the entrances. On the south wall there are three well-preserved towers.
The lowest zone of the rampart consists of a row of short walls drawn in a broken line. In the west side, there are graves inserted into the rock. In the 14th century, this part served as a temporary refuge of the local population from the Turk invasion.
After the death of King Marko, in 1395, this settlement was taken by the Turk guards, and because of that, life in it completely perished. The inhabitants of the former settlement looked for refuge in the near regions.

Impressive sky... even though its portion is so small!
I am intrigued by your choice concerning the framing of the shot... How come you chose to give so much space to the grass on the left side of the picture? Had I been in your shoes I would have stepped a few steps to the right to capture the path starting from the bottom left side of the picture and I would have panned a bit upwards to give more space to the impressive rock on the left. In this picture you have gone wide view that doesn't perhaps work as well as it could.
A more detailed view would have been more interesting, or then a wide one from a different angle. You have cropped two parts of the view that seem essential to me: the wall on the right and the rock on the left. Had you left out either one and let either one stand out with more presence, I believe your picture would be much more efficient and interesting.
Next time you encounter a similar situation or if you ever make it to this place again, I warmly recommend finding one thing to focus on and not just such a wide/not really wide scenery. In such an instance it might prove better to focus on a wall and let the background give the wider whole of the place or then try to find a place where you will be able to capture an overall wider view (fom on top a wall, for example).
Hope this is of help :D
All the best, and much more!
