Photographer’s Note

The church of St. Jovan at Kaneo, near Ohrid, is located on the cliffs, just above the Ohrid Lake. This beautiful natural setting makes it one of the most visited places in Macedonia. The church was built at the end of the 13th century and its architecture shows both Byzantine and Armenian influences.

It was about 4 p.m. when we visited this site last February and the sun was starting to go down on the horizon.

I cropped the original image to remove the extra sky at the top and make a more panoramic view.
