Photographer’s Note
Novo Selo village near Stip, is famous as the birthplace of many revolutionaries and important people of the Macedonian history including the first president of independent Macedonia Kiro Gligorov and Mr. Mr. Mihail, archbishop and previous head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church. Real jewel in the village is the church dedicated to Virgin Mary, built in 1850 by Andrea Damjanov, one of the greatest 19th century architects in the Balkans.
