Photographer's Note
An other shot of our TE meeting in early march. Pfaffenthal is, together with the Grund, one of the oldest parts of the City situated in the valley of the Alzette. In Roman times the road linking Reims to Trier passed through this valley. The photo was taken from the bridge crossing the Alzette linking the Vauban-towers. A photo of one of the TE members participating in this meet: Julia.

Bonsoir John,

Hello John,
greatly captured shot of a nice, slightly diagonal perspective. The light is very well managed and I like the overall softness of the pic, with this very nice pastel colors. Well done! Tfs and best wishes.

Salut John, beautiful view of the old part of the city. That architecture with those roofs and façades, make me remember of fairly tales. Nice lighting and natural colors. I like the detail of the bright white reflection on the river. I just had a better look at the other photos of the theme, to know you all better ;-) It looks that you had a rough weather - windy and cold (at least for Portuguese standards).
Amitiés,
Ricardo

John,
great photo. If I were you I just give more color to the houses (by spliting the imagem in the line between the river and the houses).
5*
Congratulations

Hi John. Lucky you to have so photogenic city nearby, I would need to fly for hours. ;-)
I have a question. There is always something in a picture slightly distorted by perspective. How should one decide, for example, what part of architecture is the most important to be kept "vertical" so picture as a whole does not look tilted? Is is the left, right or the centre? I have tried to define "perceived optical centre of gravity" for this purpose. Difficult at least.
Did you mention Julia in WS? (Pardon my poor French.again.)
I love the colours, so natural, and the way you build your picture.
Greetings, happy first day of spring, pretty cold over here.

Bonsoir John

I like the pleasant light on the pastel coloured buildings and the hint of reflections in the rippled water. A lovely, clear and sharp photo.

I like the detail here of the houses along the river John. Bit difficult light - as it was the whole day, still with good details like the hill right behind and backed well by the clouded sky.

Bonjour John,

Excellent week-end.
Daniel.

Salut John,
It is not for tomorrow, but your pictures really make me think about renting a car in Brussels and driving all around the Grand Duchy. You will be responsible for this good decision. I see that there's a lot to see, such this place taken from the Alzette Bridge.
Excellent ! I wish you a very good Sunday - Izzet
