The fortress on the sandstone outcrop
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Perched throne-like on its rocky outcrop, the fortress, the faithfully restored remains of which were entered in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994, has always been a lure to foregn concuerors.Luxembourg is one of the eldest settlement of Europe. The city, for reasons of its location and natural geography, has through history been a place of strategic military significance. The first fortress was found in 10th century and the walls which can be seen above today were rised in 1244 by Sigfrid. In the 17th century, the first casemates were built: 23 km of galleries and rooms. They served as storage places for artillery, shelters from enemy fire and allowed the movement of troops between the inner and outer fortifications. Hope you enjoy that beautiful place. |

Zdrastvuyte Tanya! This is a great crop and composition. Framing with the road and the church is excellent. The sky is very bright. maybe it was a combination of fog and sunshine. Is it possible to darken the whole image somewhat? Thanks and kind regards, Chris.

So much to see in one picture! I will try a workshop to sort out the sky. Very good notes too. Surely worth more critique.

Great photo Tanya, lot's of things happening and asking for attenttion, the road on the left, the church on the rigth, the reflection in the river, the unfocused hills in the background and of course the ridge in the middle, but together it gives a good image of Luxembourg city at the river. Thanks, Frans
Hello Tatiana,
really nice shot. I like the composition and POV.
A bit too bright in the horizon. TFS
