Photographer’s Note
At the end of a September we were on a picnic by the Mosel river when they suddenly closed the roads and made ready for a marathon to come by. The first twenty or thirty runners were Africans not visibly strained after the first 30 kilometers. Such as these two. Some of them were even laughing and chatting as they ran. Ten minutes later the European runners came by. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of their pained sweating faces and obvious exhaustion. Someone told me there is an international circuit of professional marathon runners where these guys from Kenya are usually found up front - a bit like the world of golfers where the best can be found at every tournament. It occured to me that it must be an interesting way to see the world - running across all continents like Forrest Gump ran across the US.

Good action shot.
In regards to your note, these are professional runners, sponsored just like other professional athletes. They run at races all around the world. Race directors want runners like these gentleman entered in their marathon because it draws a much bigger crowd to watch.
..And I agree with you that it would definitely be an interesting way to see the world.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Per. Good catch of the marathon runners who indeed look remarkably fresh well into the long distance. Good perspective and timing to take the photo, and nice vivid colors in the September sun. The DOF is good but a bit shallower might even be better.

Hej Per,
A nice capture of these two runners. I like the blur of their legs and feet to show their speed. Well done.

This is a very interesting subject and a perfect attitude for these champions.
Good quality for the colors and a very good framing (may be missing a short distance between the feet and the frame althought there is an effect while they walk on it).
Compliments

Hi Per,
Nice action shot. Indeed it seems that these two guys just started their race. Their time wasn't in the sport news her for the marathon of NY was of more importance.

Nice action shot Per, good framing and excellent sharpness. Pitty you you missed the pained and strained Europeans. Patrick Clausse, from the Office, ran it that Marathon. He normally runs half marathons but he wanted to experience a complete one. "Never again" he said, he was utterly exhausted.
