Intro
This is a shot of the last 200m of May 3rd's Luxembourg's ING night run marathon. It is an anual event and this was the 3rd edition with approximately 8500 participants. About 1500 ran the full 42km and the others ran half the distance. The start is at the east side of the city, at a stadium called D'Coque on JFK Avenue, not far from the airport. See the link at the bottom for the exact location.

Organisation
This is a highly enjoyable marathon! Organisation of the entire event is perfect with easy registration, good expo, hassle free start, excellent refreshing stations every 2 km, wide streets, beautiful course, heroic finish in the stadium and... nice medal! :)

Running it
This marathon is different because it starts at 18:00 hour but the race really begins to shine when the sun goes down and night falls: it'll cool down, the streets will loose its crowds and although you are in a city on a Saturday night, you're lonely... there is just you, the night, empty streets and the long road till the finish line. You're on your own and you belong to the streets. It's quiet. You'll hear city sounds but it contains no info... you'll cross a bridge and look down to those little lights in the valley 80m below. City Silence. It's so beautiful. Tonight is yours. You can put everything in perspective.

37k, still 5 to go, JFK Avenue: one straight wide road, you cannot even see the end of it, you see darkness. Some beats to kill time...' The Wind Cries Mary', 'Try', 'Downbound Train', 'Sky Fits Heaven', 'In the Air Tonight' ..... only 1k left and the winds picks up and takes away your warmth... but you made it... fysically drained; mentally fulfilled.
