Photographer's Note

Luxembourg (1/5)

My day in Luxembourg started when I met Julia at the railway station. With her guidance I quickly got the idea how the city was build on a place surrounded by deep gorges and thus well protected from possible attackers. After a rainy and cloudy morning the weather started to clear and the day turned out to be nice and sunny.

Natural sandstone cliff protecting the city centre on the right. Grund, Alzette river and the church of St. John on the left.

Shooting towards the sun is always tricky. On this one the remaining clouds saved from the strongest glare. The scene in the shadow required quite a lot of brightening. I hope it still looks plausible.
