Tiny Town, a photo from Luxembourg, South

Photographer's Note

Small in stature, big on substance. I didn’t know much about the country before visiting, but I’m glad I took the time to find out. The cities old town is quite beautiful and charming. From my vantage point overlooking it, everything appeared as if it were a miniature model of itself!? After admiring this view for close to 10 minutes, I thought it was odd that I never once saw anyone walking the streets.

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a landlocked country in the Benelux bordered by Belgium, France and Germany, lying at the crossroad of Germanic and Latin cultures. It is the only Grand Duchy in the world and is the second-smallest of the European Union member states.

With a successful steel, finance and high technology industry, a strategic location at the heart of Western Europe, more natural beauty than you might expect given its size, and as one of the top three richest countries in the world, Luxembourg enjoys a very high standard of living and has prices to match!

Roof tops old stuff, Jason, about a small country, but known in many diff. businesses you mentioned.

Indeed what you writes, we see no people in the street this is almost incredible.
You found a very nice place and took these picture out of the hight with a nice result.

Hello Jason,
I think this part of town (if it is the one located in the valley below the city centre) is called the 'Grund'.
Personally I find it the most picturesque part of the Luxembourg capital.
From the cliff that separates this quarter from the center you have splendid views like this one.
The soft tones of the facades give the area a special charm. The view from the height on the river and the streets is fantastic.

Hi Jason,
Tis really does look like a toy town, a really great effect. I think your point of view looking down on it like this helps that feeling. The lack of people makes a really nice effect, I always feel that a lack of people can help an image look much cleaner, as it does here. Really nicely seen and great title.
