Photographer’s Note

Un coucher de soleil avec un ciel assez tourmenté, une situation idéale pour essayer la nouvelle SONY A900. Les objectifs Zeiss ne sont pas encore disponible au Grand-Duché, je me suis donc servi du bon vieux AF DT 18 - 200, ce qui ne permet pas de profiter àfond du capteur plein format.
Photoshop CS3 - RAW
Impossible d'utiliser Aperture pour l'instant, l'application ne reconnaît pas le format RAW du 900.
A sunset with a rather tormented sky, a good excuse to try out the new Sony A 900- The Zeiss lenses are not yet available in Luxemburg, so I have to do with the AF DT 18-200. The result is that I can't use the full capacity of the captor.
I used RAW and Adobe Photoshop CS3. Aperture is not (yet) compatible with the new RAW format and neither is Lightroom.

Quel superbe ciel et quelle finesse dans l'image ! Je crois que tu ne seras déçu de ton acquisition. J'imagine la photo sans la compression, ce doit être quelque chose ! J'étais content de mon full frame Eos 5 D, ici, c'est encore autre chose !

Oh oh que vois je un gros investissement, felicitations, a ma connaissance c'est le 1er A900 a apparaitre sur TE, il va falloir certainement du temps a t'habituer a un appareil si complexe, mais je suis sur que les avancees en qualite d'image sont deja visibles en grand format, car a TE on fait avaler beaucoup... Joli ciel en effet, ce qui permet de voir qu'il y a ici du potentiel dans les hautes lumieres.

What an amazing cloudscape. Those thin high clouds look like sunbeams at first glance as they radiate out from the darker cloud. Well spotted.

A somehow poetic photo, a wonderful one. What a gorgeous and interesting sky. This evening atmosphere nearly is breathtaking. I really seldom use this word here, for me this one is a masterpiece - really. What a view! A phot to marvel ...

Good use of the format with the low placement of the horizon line John. Such a sky needs just a crop like this to be presented at the best. Good idea.

Hi John,
Very nice sky, the composition is quite original, simple but effective.
The fg is a bit dark thought.
