January remains extremely mild in most of Northern Europe this year. If it weren't for the naked trees, one would think that spring was here. The south of Luxembourg has lots of good farmland separated by small woods and lots of narrow country roads ideal for cycling. And with gently rolling hills it makes the cycling a real pleasure - not to mention views like this.
I tried to work with thirds in this one, having the horizon only one third into the frame from below and the tree way over in the last third on the right.
I cropped slightly (to avoid a bit of road showing at the bottom), resized, enhanced contrast, saturated a bit and sharpened (all in moderate measures I hope).

Thanks for your insight, friendly and critique comments and guidelines. This is one of the best of your work in this natural and particular theme, for me not necessary for others. Nice and well done enquadrement and well managed light in a beautiful nature scenery, perspective and enquadrement that you transcribed to digital and real vision! Congratulations Per Hoj!

I like the sky and the variations of light in the sky. The composition is good as the close view of the tree draws the attention to the branches and the sky.

Beautiful landscape picture Per, indeed the winter in Europe is wonderful soft, but you picture give the soft colours, and excellent format as the tree almost completely, splendid view Per!

Good framing with very nice delicate texture. So serene ambiance made possible by nice colors.

Very well done with the Landscapre under the tree.
I like it for the framing of course but also for the colors and depth.

I already had this one open to leave a critique when my PC crashed yesterday ... so here I am again. It looks so simple, but I really like what you did here, Per - the barren tree in the foreground is well used as a framing device, and the vast countryside view that unfolds below is beautiful in its seasonal colors (benefitting from the unduly mild winter so far). Sharpening is always critical as the tiny branches of trees are quite unforgiving when it's overdone, but you dosed it perfectly for this one, I think.

Nice shot with the tree point of view. The dark clouds match the naked winter branches. Good composition.

Yes Per our winter surely turned out to be mild this year. I heard on TV that theres a certain amount of warmth and its just a matter of who's get it - this year Grece and Spain got snow instead of us. I like the composion and sharpness of this shot - also the sunlight in the horizon fine to watch - thanks Per for this fine view of a Landscape which look very familar to me as well.

this is lovely.. the bare and leafless tree looks gorgeous with the beautiful background; the sky looks threatening towards the top and then in the distance, looks beauutiiifull.. i like the colors in this picture
