Photographer’s Note
Another one of this jetty (sorry yet one more tomorrow), this time just after the sun dropped behind the dunes behind the town. This traditional Neringa fishing boat came past. The same style as in 'Paint it Back' , but htis time an original, rather than a modern replica.

Another good one, twin brother of yesterdays. Different angle but almost the same type of composition. Does it tilt a bit to the right or is it my impression?

This is much better. Softer, better composition / lighting, & the birds are a bonus. I especially like the alignment of the yacht with the diagonal jetty.

The quiet moment of the day, with the most beautiful colors !
The composition drives our eye to the boat and we can almost hear the birds.
Excellent Richard !

Never, never say sorry, when offering such photos!
This is a very special moment you have caught. Such clarity. And you can hear voices drifting in the quiet, I could hear oars, then realised they were sails... :-)
Maybe you could take the same picture, just after sunset, all the way to winter? :-)

Hi Richard, missed some pictures, I notice, what a very pleasant and pleasing picture, very nice colours. The water is such that I wouldn't be able to resist, diving in. It's a bit a pity that the boat is sailing out of your frame

I like the stillness of the water in this one. The old sailboat adds a touch of nostalgia. What time of day was this taken? Around 10:00PM?

Richard! Another stunner. The pier, the boat, the distant bouy, the birds flitting about, all beneath the gorgeous sky. First rate work here. Gal has excellent eye sight because this image is rotated slightly clockwise. I downloaded it to check with the measuring tool. It is off a whopping 0.15 degrees... ;-)
Keep em coming Richard, these are fine.

A fantastic composition, Richard. The colours in the sky and in the waters reflection are equally beautiful. The sails of the boat, the birds in the sky and the diagonal pier just make the shot perfect. Very well done.

Hi Richard - you got a very fine light and reflection on this capture - the silhouette poles and boats adds atmosphere to this fine image - very fine job.

Great shot!
Wonderful light and colours. The sky is amazing. Beautiful silhouettes, very well composed. The brids really adds to this photo.
My only suggestion is that you rotate it slightly CCW.
Very well seen and captured.

The picture is splendid composed. The overall blue cast is peaceful, calm, the small pier with some birds flying around is wonderful, the light, soft and still producing very nice reflections is very well cought. A placid one, wonderful!

Very good richard; very quiet plus the guy on the boat and the birds flying. Very pleasant picture. I wish maybe the red (bouée in french - not sure about the word in english) were not there but also it enhances a central point the rest is revolving around?

Hey Richard,
Just strolling through your gallery a bit...so many pics there already!! :-) This one is really beautiful with this pink, blue sky reflecting in the sea and this elegant little sailing boat! Really nice!

This is truly one of the most beautiful sites captured by a camera. It is highly evocative of the 19th century seascapes by Belgian painter August Mussin. He frequently painte in Holland, scenes of the Shalde, where it opens to the North Sea. Aside from the composition and spectacular color, you've made sure that the sea is precisely level, an aspect that lesser photographers fail in doing. Bravo!
I am a kindred spirit in that I too am a university professor, a theoretical physicist, but on the side, an artist. I hope you don't mind my adding your work to my "favorites." Bulent
