Church of Holy Trinity in Kaunas is a part of priest seminary and it is a largest seminary in Lithuania serving the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kaunas.
After World War II when Lithuania was occupied by the Soviet Union, all the priest seminaries in Lithuania were closed. Most of the seminary buildings were confiscated; the church of Holy Trinity was turned into a warehouse; a library containing some 90,000 volumes was destroyed; and many priests were deported to Siberia.
After Lithuania declared independence in 1990, the seminary reacquired its former buildings, which were restored before the visit of Pope John Paul II in 1993.

Your well-composed and high-quality picture shows how well restored and decorated Lithuanian cities are. I have not been to Lithuania for ages. Thanks for the very aesthetic photo and informative note!
