Photographer’s Note
Palanga Pier, Lithuania.
It has been a long time since I had been in Palanga, Lithuania. I picked a nice bright, though rather strong winds blowing on Friday.
Palanga was and still is a popular place to venture to visit the sea shoreline with fine soft sands.
Many people walk for the fresh air.
Palanga is a special place for Lithuanians to visit, in summer, though now very crowded, since joining the EU people have found and enjoy the natural beauty.
Even in winter when snow and ice the local people enjoy to walk on the shore.
I liked this photo, and have done nothing to it, all is raw incuding the wind.

Hi My Friend,
You are visiting Lithuania. I would like to visit the countries of the Baltic sea. Very nice image, it's a cold but a sunny day. Excellent perspective, nice colors and very good sharpness.
Greetings from Brasil

There's something slightly disconcerting about seeing a beautiful shore like this, Robert, and all the people bundled up in winter gear. Those white caps and the dark in the clouds, though, suggest they do so with good reason.
Nice use of light and line in this image and good sharpness, too. I suspect you need a slight rotation correction toward the right on this photo, but otherwise the composition is effective.
I like the way you show us the clouds, the people walking along the shadows, and that intriguing bit of action off to the right.

Hello Rob,
I like this composition. The pier is well positioned in the frame and with the shadows makes for a good sense of depth. There is a feeling of vitality from all these people with their head down and huddled up against the wind. Gives one a feeling of the impending winter. Very good work.

Hi Robert. I've never been to Lithuania, and have perhaps never looked at a photo from that country. Yours reminds me that it has a Baltic coast, and I see here a place of simple beauty. The shot makes one feel cold; you can almost feel the bracing autumn wind blowing in. I like the perspective achieved by looking out along the pier. The rugged up people add a crucial touch to this one. Very nice waves and clouds, too.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Robert,
an interesting reportage, fine view on the sea and pier during the windy day. Pleasant colours and pattern clouds on the sky. Good work.

"...since joining the EU people have found and enjoy the natural beauty..."
Well, before joining EU Lithuanians also were not blind to natural beaty, eh, Rob? How do you think? :) They also enjoyed Palanga and other lovely places in Litva? Even if these places were less maintained?
Just my thought! :)
Greetings to Scotland!

Hi Robert,
Very nice, windy, cool picture of Palanga pier.
I have nice memories of a summer day here. I was surprised the water was warm (you know, I'm from a much southerner country, Portugal).
Greetings,
