Photographer’s Note

At 1600m Malbun is the highest village in Liechtenstein. Enclosed by mountains except for the upgoing valley if features a convenient circle that turned it into the biggest ski resort of the principality.

In summer it is popular for hiking, this chapel (Friedenskapelle) is the last village house before you get on he alpine trails, you do not have to stop for praying but keep in mind conditions change fast in the mountains and the danger is never very far.

Salut Jean-Yves,
Un style de Papagolfade qui diffère un peu de celle que je viens de poster et à choisir que crois que je préfère cette petite chapelle de montagne! Comme toujours, une photo bien composée avec la montagne derrière et tout qui forme une belle diagonale. J'ai bien rigolé en lisant ta note et je tâcherai d'y penser la prochaine fois que je pars en montagne!

beautiful image, the colours are so deeply saturated, particularly blue (no polarizer?);
i always enjoy this type of view - looks beeing pretty hot and in the background - snowy peaks of the mountains;

On avait prévu faire des randonnés dans les alpes ce mois d'août qui est naturellement fichu. C'est le deuxième dimanche ce mois où la température ne va pas dépasser les 15°C en plaine. Vraiment déprimant surtout quand ton image donne vraiment envie avec le beau soleil, le ciel si bleu, les petites fleurs jaunes. La chapelle est vraiment mignonne et ta compo harmonieuse.

Salut Jean-Yves,

Superbe composition sous un éclairage magnifique; tout est en place pour nous faire admirer ce paysage exhaltant.

Mais parce que c’est justement trop beau, on regarde, on admire, on s’attarde et là, Oupss! On voit ta retouche sur le côté de la chapelle, où l’on aperçoit des problèmes de clônage... Pourtant J-Y, tu avais toute la texture voulue pour pouvoir reconstituer le mur sans multiplier la même source de copie; qu’est-ce que tu voulais nous cacher?... Ton chien transgénique qui faisait pipi sur le mur!!!

Rassure-toi cher clôneur, ta retouche en vitesse n’enlève rien à la beauté de cette scène à couper le souffle.

Salut J-Y, I like the composition of this shot: the church and the mountain are well well balanced, and the nice curve of the path seems to tie them each other.
Only a pity for the wastebasket (with green cap) but Liechtenstein washes wither than Switzerland ;-) and it can be a part of the classic scenery!

Liechenstein fait rarement partie des pays visité sur TE.J'en apprécie encore plus cette proposition.
Un décor superbe,bien composé avec des couleurs magnifiques et des nuages comme je les aime,des nuages de gaieté et d'amusement frivole qui rehaussent toutes photos.
Bel équilibre des expositions.
Pas de Polarisateur?

Perfectly laid out shot! The church on one side, and the road winding around on the other side, leading to the mountain in the background. The church looks like a natural part of the landscape with the rough stones. Great work!

Composition-wise I find this a bit generic, but of course it is an undeniably beautiful location with a well-chosen vantage point to have the old chapel in front and the bending footpath to lead the eye towards the massif in the back. The lighting is very nice to bring forward the summer colors at their lushest, and the technical execution of the photo and its presentation cannot be faulted. Should make a lovely 30*45 print to hang on the wall. Have a nice new week, and what remains of this WE.

Celel-ci aussi me plaît. Petite, en pierre et dans un superbe endroit.
Le contraste entre la végétation, la pierre et les montagne est très beau.

What a shot, Jean Yves! Amazing contrast of green and blue, nice light and composition with clear points of interest both in the fore- and background and the curved road connecting them. Great exposure with no overexposition at all, anywhere.

Une très belle vue bien composé de cette église de montagne !
Les couleurs sont belles et naturelles.
Tu as bien fait de constituer une reserve d'images de montagne pour cette période de disette climatique. J'ai l'impression que mes poumons se remplissent d'air frais d'altitude.

Jean-Yves, cette chapelle semble en relief tellement la lumière et l'angle de prise de vue sont bien choisis. La netteté est aussi au rendez-vous dans une composition impeccable. La profondeur de champ a été obtenue par une ouverture de f/11. Le ciel sans polarisant est des meilleurs.

Beautiful pleasant pic. Bright saturated colors. I like the shadowery part of the chapel that makes it more dynamic than a normal postcard. Good low-ish pov too. Looking @ this is like breathing fresh air :)

Hi Jean Yves,
Crisp and clear - I can almost taste and breathe the cool mountain air here. The low angle POV is ideal for the shot, with the chapel a scene unto itself and the path taking our eye and hearts off to the right. The sprinkling of yellow flowers enhances and there is excellent depth. Well captured, JY. I would love to go hiking here.

Hi J-Y, this typical scenery in the Alps could be a photograph for a summer picture of any swiss calender (hmmm, in this case it should be a Lichtenstein calender). The composition is perfect. The church on the left side is framed by the road turning around on the right side and on top the snow packed picture with the deep blue sky.

Bonjour Jean Yves,

no matter where I look in your gallery I'm confronted with wonderful images. This one is no exception; there's good texture in the stone of the building, the track leads us up the hill to the snow topped mountain and then sitting on top is the beautiful blue sky. A fantastic composition, sharp and with good contrasting colours. A well seen image.
