Photographer’s Note
Tales from the underground lives of Latvian people...
not really. Plenty of graffiti in the street underpasses around the central railway station in Riga. A lot is politically motivated but this one jumped out to me.
I would have loved to wait for the "right" couple to walk by, but I just didn't have the time to spare (and I was keeping my friends waiting).
What does the upside down heart mean? Does he not love her? Is the sign a warning? I don't know...

Hi Lewis,
I like this composition very much, very original and interesting! The timing is very good, overall sharpness and DOF very well managed. Lucky that she's wearing a bright yellow coat which contrasts very well with the black and white graffiti. And wht a funny graffiti :)

Hi Lewis
I like the contrast between the wall without color and the woman which goes.

Surprised this photo hasn't received more attention, I think its a great urban shot with some nice stencil graffiti work which adds some mystery. Great bokeh also.

Hi Lewis
I have already seen your picture yesterday but i hadn't more point. So today i am glad to say this picture is great.
I like the frame you choised on the wall with the woman walking behind. Excellent light.
Well done

Very good. A bit similar to the photo Im planning to post tomorrow. I love the urbanity of this photo very much. The color of the coat is so good this is a shot I would never put into b/w and thats rare:)

Lewis,
Anothe great shot from Riga. Lovely use of bokeh and great framing. Like you said to wait for a couple would have been perfect but this works well for me. That yellow jacket really pops in the frame.
Great shot

I this shot because of the contrast between the idealized couple with the real single woman. Thought provoking I think.
technically it is great too. the colors are right on and the DOF is fantastic and really adds to the contrasted of these two images.
thanks

Hi Lewis,
Nice picture however deeper DOF would be better in my opinion...
And answering to your question about the upside down heart I can only give some of my feelings about that as I saw similar cartoon some time ago... But this one is not so obvious... The idea I mentioned was to distinguish man and woman emotions about love: she sees a big heart and he sees attractive woman shapes instead: this is what the upside down heart probably is supposed to mean ;)
