engure harbor

As a follow up of my series about the soviet fishing industry.

During he soviet period, in Engure a harbor was created for the fishing industry. A dock was build, there was a repair wharf, cranes were build, and a factory was made to deal with the fish that was brought here.

Now all is in ruins, and only a handful of small ships use the harbor. All around you can find the remains of what used to be a modern facility. After the collapse of the SSSR, no-one cared about this harbor, individuals took over in the fishing industry.

It's not much different from the places you will find anywhere else. It's actually a nice micro economy, everything you needed was there, just around the harbor.

The harbor office was a floating office, in a neo classical style, witch sort of surprised me :)

The harbor is now in use by sailingboats and anglers.
It's a good place for some small development.
Still, I like old things, and I'd miss this funny place if it would change

PS2;
rotate, crop, adjusted brightness and contrast, resizing, added the border, sharpening and finally added the text.

I need some help here, the original is more than 4000 pix, and resizing it gives problems with the sharpness. I use PS2, the best option was to use the [save as for web], but there must be a better way. The panorama is a slightly different version. I used Photostitch for the original, but for the panorama I used photoshop (for the first time), and I included a fourth photo. The compression is still too big, I went from a width of more than 5000 to 1600, and in order to keep below the 400Kb limit, I had to store the jpg with a compressionfactor, loosing some of the sharpness.
Any advice will be welcome, so I can do a repost of the smaller one and the panorama :)

this is part of small serie about the Latvian coast, and how the fishing ‘industry’ evolved over a century;
