Photographer’s Note

soviet planning

As a follow up of my series about the pier, I will post a series on why it was abandoned.

In Engure, a harbor was created for the fishing industry. A dock was build, there was a repair wharf, cranes were build, and a factory was made to deal with the fish that was brought here.

Now all is in ruins, and only a handful of small ships use the harbor. All around you can find the remains of what used to be a modern facility.

PS2;
rotate, crop, adjusted brightness and contrast, resizing, added the border, sharpening and finally added the text.
this is part of small serie about the Latvian coast, and how the fishing ‘industry’ evolved over a century;
