One more educative picture from everyday's life of fishermans family. While men are catching fish, women are taking care about the catch - preparing and smoking it. This work is like simple but needs an accurate work, ability to work quick, not to get tired from the rutine. And to get over the specific odour.
But in the face of an old women was something like care, love to her job. Not just lot of dead fishes pierced through their heads, but historical culture, traditions and life.

I like the composition with the old lady, rising smoke and the smoke-box with rows of fishes... The sight actually made my taste buds remember those trips along the Latvian seaside, buying smoked fish from local fishermen and eating it in the dunes. Made me homesick.
On a side note, again I am not so sure about the closest plane of the photo being out of focus. What was the aperture used? But that's me nitpicking. Don't mind me. :)
P.S. Have you visitited the villages near Kolka? I remember, they have very photo-genic boat sea docs there... Beautiful in sunsets. Unfortunately, the photos I made of those place are long lost.

This is a very interesting shot. I like the details of the fish and the smoke rising from them. The ladies expression is nice as she carefully nurtures the fish. A lovely shot.

A sharp photo of an old woman at work - her face tells of a life of hard but enjoyable work. I am adding this photo to a theme 'women at work'. TFS, Marlene
