Photographer’s Note

Jaunpils castle ( translates into English as "new castle")construction goes back to the 14th ccentury. The eastern block and the tower were added 2 centuries later. The interior went through transformation on several occassions and the tower Raroque - style roof appeared in the 17th cent. Now the castle is open to the public and you'll find a medieval courtyard, a cafe with a fire place, a museum and even rooms to stay for a night.

Hi Alex,
Good composition and choice of pov. I love the muted colours created by the shadows and the brightness of the castle walls as a contrast. Good refelction of the entire scene in the water.

hi Alex - you have captured and rendered such a special light here - your composition does all the right things and is nicely balanced between the building and the reflection but I also like the greater inclusion of the sky - it is such a good strong sky as a backdrop to the building and these wonderful trees - I think this one stands out amongst such shots and for me is a favourite of the genre.
