Photo made near place - "Zvartas iezis" is one of the most picturesque detrition of Devon period rocks in Latvia. Length 200 m, heigth till 44 m. Sandstone bluff arched in semicircle. River-bed at Zvārtas Iezis had been straightened out in 30-ties of the 20th century to preserve the mighty sandstone clief of destruction caused by river-bed erosion. 200 m from Zvārta wood, there is so-called Mazais (Small) Zvārtas Iezis (heigth 25 m).
