Photographer’s Note

The Riga radiotelevision tower is the highest tower in the European Union - 368,5 meters. The tower has a viewing platform at height of 97 meters above the ground, the platform is the highest observation point of city of Riga. From it Old Riga, the center of Riga, and also Dvina are well looked through. In good weather it is possible to see the Riga’s HPS in Salaspils, the highest points Sigulda, the Riga port and the ships mooring to them. Support of the base of a tower go deep into the ground on depth up to 27 m, resting in a dolomitic layer. The tower externally represents a design from three "legs" (support of the main design) and a spike. In two "legs" there are the high-speed inclined lifts lifting on height of 99 meters for 52 seconds, and in the third - a reserve ladder and a cable, going of an office building to transmitters. The tower was projected counting upon speed of a wind up to 44 meters a second. Very much I recommend to visit on travel across Riga...
On November, 18th 2008 Latvia celebrated 90 years of Day of Independence. In city significant structures including the Television Tower have been shined.

This picture is joined from 6 horizontal pictures on a vertical from the right coast of the river Daugava.

Certainly the print in height of 3 meters sees is much more tremendous, but I have no opportunity to transfer it on the monitor of a computer (only 800*250). Pleasant viewing.
