Canola field Photo

Photographer’s Note

Canola is one of future cultures in our agriculture. Currently it is used mainly to produce cooking oil and honey but in near future, as more biofuel factories would start working, this field will produce fuel for cars.
At the place where I was standing there was strong odour of nectare and loud buzz of thousands of bees. A bit unusual landscape for Latvia but it is time to get used.

Very good colours, contrast and composition, it looks like it was taken from heaven (I haven't been there yet . . .).

Wow!! My screen has just become much to bright for my eyes!! The cloudy sky is just perfect here to make the yellows come out.

Ciao Gatis, here you are great as Cmartos and Jeppe. Beautiful coloured composition. The tree in the middle of yellow field adds a lot to your wonderful picture. Well, well done.

Great colorful shot, Gatis. Down here in Germany, the canola/rapeseed blossom has already faded again, but it's nice to see how you caught this scene in Latvia today. You made a fine composition with the tree apparently bathing in a sea of yellow. The cloudy sky tops it off really well. Wonderful photo, thanks for sharing.

Hi Gatis, as far as Im' concerned, you hit the jackpot here. Beautiful coloured field under a beautiful sky, waht more do you want? Nice composition with the nice, and nice green tree off-centered. Thanks for letting us enjoy it too.
I think these flowers were often used in the Netherlands in new polders, to get the ground full of nitrogen.

Very fine capture Gatis - I like mix of shadows and light due to the drifting clouds - You spotted that tree nicely and got it just fine - congratulaion.

And I agree with your note Canola - can give us many thinks in the future - for instance fuel to cars.

And yes our Canola fields not very yellow anymore.

beautiful landscape..lovely colors and beautiful sky..I think you incresed blue in sky and yellow down the field (as top of the tree is burned a little) and I liked this surreal effect very much...thanks..

It's a great field of canola. The yellow is amazing. I love the tree sticking out from the field. It seems to be the farmer tending all the canola. Nice textured sky, too. But I really love how bright and vivid this yellow is. Very nicely done.

Tres belle image mais je trouve les couleurs un peu pale , il n'y a pas trop de contraste surement du aux nuages ce jour la , la photo est quand même tres belle , bien vu .

Just amazed with this shot full of detail. I think I must go to Latvia after watching your photos. In this one, I love the perfect horizons defined by the flowers in contrast whit the forest, and the forest with the sky. Then the tree breaking both of them. Fantastic. Congratulations.

i have always wanted to capture similar scene, but have always lacked in finding the perfect place. it just shows that i should be more carefully looking around when going around Latvia:):)

Very, very nice colours, indeed!
The outstanding yellow of the field gets a great support from the dark(er) sky.
The green/yellow tree itself ist very beautiful! Silhouette, hight and colour is superb!
