Photographer’s Note
Here is my tribute to the Vespa!
I saw these bikes all over the place when I was in Italy. Kids would be quickly zipping in and out of cars. There would be a whole group of young ones following each other on them. I'm sure they are not just for young people! They just seemed really cool and a great way to get around!
The only thing is, we dont have many here! I would get one if I wouldn't get funny looks in Edinburgh. So far, I have seen one since I got home. The only thing we have are those tiny scooters that make such a bad noise (No offence to anyone who has one!).
Anyway, if I ever move to Italy, (which I dont think will happen!) I will get one!

They are really great and have been in fashion for many years. Your picture is a nice tribute to the Italian icon. Here in Australia, they started selling them again and we can now see some out on the streets. The same for the FIAT 500 even if I consider the price to be on the high side for such small car. Well done.

Hello Blair,
good shot with perfect position of the Vespa.
I like all these shades of brown and grey very much. Good sharpness, details and textures. Very well done.
Best wishes,
Helmut

Hi Blair,
excellent shot. Oh, how I love this kind of work when it's done as well as you have done it! The Vespa and cobble stone is perfectly sharp. The little green plant in the immediate b/g lends interest. The rest is perfectly, wonderfully blurred. Great job! Hey, did this guy polish his Vespa for you? It seems very "un-italian" to have such a clean vehicle! ;-)
Thanks and take good care!

Hi Blair,
J'aime l'effet monochrome de ta photo. La couleur du Vespa reprend la couleur du mur de la maison au fond. Il y a également un beau contraste de textures avec les différentes pierres des murs et de la rue. Bravo.

There is a lot of the atmosphere of many italian villages in this picture. A narrow street, and a Vespa parked near the door. They are getting rare in Italy too now. Years ago they were much more popular.

Hi Blair,
Good tribute the vespa is as italian as the pizza or the tricolire of the flag, good details even though all the area is in the shade.
Have a nice day JY
