Photographer’s Note

The Picocca river is a river torrents that collects water from Sarrabus mountains with peaks around 1000 meters and flows between precisely granite gorges .
In summer and autumn is almost dry but with the arrival of winter rains can swell up to become dangerous with its devastating floods.

The Roman bridge you see in the picture in San Priamo location, was destroyed by floods several times and then rebuilt.

The gorge of Rio Picocca was proposed as a Natural Monument under the LR 31/89 (B0098A) along the valley "Arco dell'Angelo" (which takes its name from a rock site at the confluence of this torrent with the Rio Cannas). The lifting of the Region of the Cenozoic Sarrabus favored the etching of deep river valleys, including the imposing Gorge "Rio Picocca", affecting up to the batolite of pink granite that is the whole basement area, to form a peak extraordinary walls, extensively fractured, full of pinnacles, and traveled to a number of strands of quartz, apliti, porphyry and lamprofiri. Huge rounded boulders and prismatic, supported at the bottom of the valley and eroded by water up to put a naked rock alive, alternating with puddles of water and alluvial deposits. The vegetation, typically Mediterranean, is characterized by Nerium oleander, whose foliage are sometimes real and the galleries on which abundant spring blooms add color to already turned pink granite. Among the species of fauna, worthy of note are Emys orbicularis Hawk peregrinus, Accipiter nisus wolterstoffii, Martes martes Latinorum, Felys sylvestris Libyan. Natural Park of adjacent Mountains Setti Brothers (which is connected to the Valley of the torrent Picocca as Area of Significant Interest Nature) live Aquila chrysaetos and this is one of the last nuclear Cervus elaphus corsicanus.

In WS you can see particular on the river gorges Picocca and myrtle bushes, from this derives a digestive liqueur.

Ciao Mario,
io sono il 53mo visitatore della tura foto e sono molto sorpreso nel vedere che non hai raccolto punteggi e una sola critica. Non è certo una foto spettacolare, ma è estremamente equilibrata dal lato tecnico, con una perfetta visibilità tanto delle ombre quanto delle più alte luci (guardare la parte inferiore delle arcate e la nuvola, per capire).
La nitidezza, non facile a causa della presenza di molti particolari, il fogliame soprattutto, è invece ottima.
La composizione, arte nella quale sei maestro, è ben eseguita e il panorama è rappresentato con un grande senso della profondità; in più la foto è una bella testimonianza storica e documentale di un luogo penso poco conosciuto anche dalla maggior parte dei sardi...
Evidentemente gli amici di TE si stanno abituando solo ad effetti speciali creati al computer.

Ciao Mario bel pot in muratura imerso in una natura meravigliosa, ottima composizione, bello anche il WS con le piante di Mirto, il liquore l'ho assaggiato l'unica volta che son venuto in Sardegna e non è male, bravo, cioao Silvio

Quasi gemella di quella del tuo socio Gianfranco. Mi viene lo spunto per un paragone (spero non me ne vorrai) tra le due. Questa è più luminosa con diversa prospettiva del ponte. Quoto anche quanto detto da Ludo -puntuale e preciso come sempre- evidenziando però una certa innaturalità delle nuvole. Indubbiamente uno scatto non facile.

Es el mismo sitio de otra foto de Badori, creo al igual que la suya esta también me gusta mucho, es parecida perspectiva,

Ciao Mario,

la foto è stupenda, sia dal punto di vista compositivo che tecnico e rende veramente grazia a questo pesaggio austero.
Ma - narami una cosa - dove hai preso l'informazione che quel ponte è romano? Le mie guide, tra cui l'ottima del Touring del 1967, non ne fanno menzione. E conoscendolo mi sembra molto improbabile che sia romano, tutt'al più la sua costruzione potrebbe risalire all'800, ma non prima di quel secolo.
Forse in quel punto c'era un ponte romano precedentemente.

Ciao Mario,
concordo con quanto detto dagli amici prima di me, la foto è tecnicamente pregevole, con un buon dettaglio dei particolari. Forse, come dice Roberto, il cielo è un pò diverso dal resto dell'immagine, probabilmente perchè l'hai ammorbidito per togliere rumore, ma comunque resta una bella immagine piacevole da guardare. Molto belli anche i WS, e grazie per la ricetta del mirto!
